I upgraded insitu from 7.0.1 to 8.0.0 on both a RPI 4 and 3B. Everything
seems to be running fine. However, the boot process takes quite a bit

for the source code.

I guess I’ll hold off upgrading then and try to source something else.

8188eu is one of the Realtek out of drivers.

The simple answer to Howard’s question is to not buy Realtek based
product…. I get those are the cheap ones…..for the reason that they
could give a crap about software support.   I can’t test many of the
drivers, so I never know which 3rd party repo really works.

I enabled the a2dp-aac codec in pCP8, which might be the cause.   I
never really heard them through development, since I use a rpi4 most of
the time, and didn't hear them there.   I'll keep working on it.

fragmentation in aac.   Increasing buffers does help, but they are still
there.  I'm trying to figure out a solution.  I may just have to disable
aac.

I just did a comparison between 7 and 8 Bluetooth.  Sadly, dropouts and
stutters affect 8 whereas 7 is stutter free...

Guess I'm stuck with 7 for the foreseeable...

Why is DEBUG on? You will get a lot of crap displaying on the GUI.

9000 refers to a port on LMS. Have you changed it from the default
value?
