Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 8.0.0 - Bluetooth Discussion
the only way it works cleanly, is to use the newer pi3B+ of rpi4, and use the 5G channels for WiFi. If you only have a 2.4 WiFi availiable, you need a separate WiFi stick, or separate bluetooth. Get the antennas separated. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 8.0.0 - Bluetooth Discussion
I'm getting the occasional, very brief audio glitch on my Sennheiser 440 HD BT Bluetooth headphones when connected to the Pi. Have the Pi set as a WAP, and know its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals are on similar frequencies, so wondered if the Pi's WAP Wi-Fi could be interfering with the Pi's Bluetooth signal. Have changed the WAP to be on Wi-Fi channel 11, but still get the odd glitch on my Bluetooth headphones. Anyone got any advice about the best ways of using Pi WAP and Bluetooth at the same time whilst avoiding any interference/conflicts? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Can't mount USB disk on Picoreplayer. Help needed please.
Lots of distractions so lets start with some basics. Players do not "See" music. It is the LMS server that "Sees" the music library, and then sends it to a player. You could very easily have the piCorePlayer player device connecting to your Mac LMS server. If you are getting confused with multiple LMS servers shut them all down except one. Also forget about players at this point. Players not playing music is a completely different set of things to work on, and they are not really related. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer and USB Audio
Tx for the suggestions, Man in a van's suggestion worked but was distorted at higher bit rates. Then I discovered the Squeezelite Output devices section on the Diags page with the detailed descriptions of each output and tried the simplest setting i.e. 'sysdefault:CARD=USB- E-MU 0404 - Default Audio Device' Bingo, that worked on all bit rates! :-) And without having to remove the Justboom DAC HAT. I think a possible reason why my earlier attempts failed was because I was using the UI on my phone and copy/pasting in the output entries from help, (I had no idea they could be selected as there was no mouse pointer indicating clickable lines and I'd not noticed 'click to use') so a stray space may have crept in. It'd be great if the Diag page's descriptive outputs could be worked into the Squeezelite config page and then made selectable via a radio button. Both players are able to see the contents of the NAS by using Remote Libraries (there's a very old instance of LMS running there, that I can't update, but is obviously still able to manage my FLAC library) With the Zen player selected, when I try to play something, nothing happens. With the piCorePlayer selected, the tracks do appear to play but I'm unable to get anything through the Pi's USB output to the amplifier (via a USB Dragonfly DAC). Presumably if things were working properly I should be able to see (and scan) the NAS files directly in the My Music screen? On the subject of IP addresses, I'm also confused that there appear to be two points of connection, in my case 192.168.1.133 and 192.168.1.135. Is that normal behaviour? One for wifi one for ethernet? On the samba question, yes I misunderstood its purpose. I presumed it was to enable Pi to cope with SMB addresses. That's one blind alley I can cross of the list. Questions, questions. I'm sorry to appear so clueless. Same as if I press long return on the keyboard. Would you assume a wrong touch configuration or might one of the SDL patches (that I didn't apply on my platform) is related to this? andreas99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70311 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114900 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

USB ports on NAS will probably only power the Pi. You wont be able to access drives on the NAS that way. [SlimDevices: Unix] Can't mount USB disk on Picoreplayer. Help needed please.
Hi I'm a longtime user of LMS but I am in the process of installing PCP on a Raspberry Pi4 in order to use it as a standalone, always on, LMS server attached by USB to 3TB of music on my NAS. Presently I run LMS on my main computer (M1 MacMini) which is not convenient. I'm not really familiar with either Linux or Pi operating systems, but thanks to the excellent PCP installation guides I have successfully installed PCP and LMS is running. However I'm hitting a wall when trying to mount the NAS drive and point PCP to its music folders. I'd be grateful for any help or pointers from Forum members--I have searched similar issues and tried a few fixes to no avail. The NAS is an old Innuos Zen MKII, which used to run LMS installed on VortexBox--(the ideal solution I'm sure, but there's another long story as to why that's not for me.) On my mac I can see and mount the music folders at the IP location as Volumes/files/music/flac, but on PCP it does not automatically show as a detected USB disk, and I've clearly no idea how to address it properly. Right now I can see and ping both the Zen and the Pi, but I'm not able to mount it on either the Pi or my mac. So I now have the Pi set up with a monitor and keyboard and the Console screen shows a successful startup but with mounting errors to the effect that "you might need a /sbin/mount. helper program)." That of course might be a red herring, if the address is just plain wrong. The attached screenshot shows my latest attempt to address the USB mounted NAS. I have tried both with CIFS and NFS and although I have enabled Samba (i.e. PCP says it is running) I'm still not able to mount it via SMB on either mac or Pi. I have seen a number of solutions that suggest this is a files system issue but none of the suggested fixes have worked for me. I'd be really grateful for any pointers on how to get up and running or at least to steer me in the direction of where the problems might lie. Thank you for reading. +---+ |Filename: Screenshot 2021-08-07 at 13.08.21.png| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35430| +---+ themicksa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40582 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114949 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Hey all, I've got a Denafrips Aries II, which supports DSD1024. I've been able to get DSD512 working just fine using piCorePlayer 8.0.0, but if I try some DSD1024, I get the following: Code: [16:24:39.576299] _read_header:159 DSF version: 1 format: 0 [16:24:39.576361] _read_header:169 channels: 2 [16:24:39.576383] _read_header:170 sample rate: 45158400 [16:24:39.576404] _read_header:171 lsb first: 1 [16:24:39.576423] _read_header:172 sample bytes: 4914292240 [16:24:39.576443] _read_header:173 block size: 4096 [16:24:39.576462] _read_header:179 found dsd len: 9828589580 [16:24:39.576482] dsd_decode:768 setting track_start [16:24:39.576503] dsd_decode:812 DSD sample rate too high for device - converting to PCM [16:24:39.576532] dsd_decode:817 DSD to PCM output [16:24:39.587224] _output_frames:65 start buffer frames: 65536 [16:24:39.587274] _output_frames:153 track start sample rate: 5644800 replay_gain: 0 [16:24:39.597331] output_thread:682 open output device: hw:CARD=Audio,DEV=0 [16:24:39.610561] alsa_open:351 opening device at: 5644800 [16:24:39.611093] alsa_open:381 reopening device hw:CARD=Audio,DEV=0 in plug mode as plughw:CARD=Audio,DEV=0 for resampling [16:24:39.612464] alsa_open:422 opened device plughw:CARD=Audio,DEV=0 using format: S32_LE sample rate: 5644800 mmap: 1 [16:24:39.612926] alsa_open:513 buffer: 80 period: 4 -> buffer size: 451584 period size: 112896 [16:24:39.614657] alsa_open:530 unable to set hw params: Invalid argument For reference, here's a snip from a DSD512 file: Code: [16:30:39.350342] _read_header:159 DSF version: 1 format: 0 [16:30:39.350404] _read_header:169 channels: 2 [16:30:39.350422] _read_header:170 sample rate: 22579200 [16:30:39.350439] _read_header:171 lsb first: 1 [16:30:39.350454] _read_header:172 sample bytes: 1262367756 [16:30:39.350470] _read_header:173 block size: 4096 [16:30:39.350485] _read_header:179 found dsd len: 2524741644 [16:30:39.350500] dsd_decode:768 setting track_start [16:30:39.350515] dsd_decode:821 DSD512 stream, format: DSD_U32_BE, rate: 705600Hz [16:30:39.374271] _output_frames:65 start buffer frames: 125952 [16:30:39.374326] _output_frames:153 track start sample rate: 705600 replay_gain: 0 This is my squeezelite command: Code: /usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n -o hw:CARD=Audio,DEV=0 -a 80:4::1: -d all=info -f /var/log/pcp_squeezelite.log -D 3:u32be -v DSD1024 isn't generally available, but anything I can do to help debug, would love to have a crack at it. lordvader's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68712 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97046 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
