Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 'Official' docker container for LMS?
When i run "mscommunity/logitechmediaserver:8.1.2" the container starts without problem. Haven't tried other, newer, versions yet, but there seems to be a problem with 'stable' Hmm... the biggest difference between the two is the underlying Debian version. But that seems to be working for the majority of users without any problem at all. ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
The active speakers don't have vol controls, just trim pots for various freq corrections and RCA and XLR inputs, so it's just PCP (squeezelite/jivelite?) that is doing vol control. Hmm - maybe wrong thread! The ALSA mixer settings were at the those you mentioned already. The noises are: 1) Boot up squealing 2) Background hiss 3) Transport change (vol/pause etc.) clicks After some testing I found that if I switched to a USB DAC with the display back on, the boot up noise disappeared so it's something to do with the DAC HAT. I found that the noises are in time with the activity LED so I guess there's some interference issue. Background hiss varied widely between different DACs. The transport/vol change clicks/glitches are definitely more noticeable using RCA (12dB more sensitive than XLR) and on quiet tracks. I can hear them now with the same tracks on other Squeezelite systems connected to active monitors, so is it just an artefact of Squeezelite playback? I just don't hear it using Foobar2k direct to a DAC. Changing the ALSA buffer from 80 to 240 has helped a little I think with one SPDIF DAC system so far. Will do some more testing. Maybe these monitors are just too revealing! :-) mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103330 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

The PCM512x codec driver has a ton of mixer controls. The defaults are normally just fine. Assuming your speakers are doing volume control. Check to make sure you have the "Digital Volume" set to max (207 / 0db) I also set the Analogue Volume to 1 / 0db And Analogue Playback boost to 0 / 0db. If you hear whines and clicks during boot, that is noise. Possibly a bad power supply, or just poor connections or poor cable routing. Once the system is booted, and you are not playing music (i.e. lms power control is off) The DAC should be interanally muted at this point, so there should be no sound there either. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Tx, but the clicking is still present. Also I tried disconnnecting the screen power and the boot-up noises are still audible. mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103330 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
I have a Justboom DAC HAT and am trying out some monitor speakers which are showing up clicks/glitches whenever I change volume or pause playback. I'd not noticed these before but I was connected to a basic AV amp, and via ethernet (now wifi) - so maybe the monitors are just more sensitive. How does one solve clicks in the Jivelite settings? The output setting is hw:CARD=sndrpijustboomd. ALSA is 80 4 _ 1 _. The Alsa mixer and Card control show an amazing arrangement of settings - are there any docs or guidance on where to start? mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103330 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PicorePlayer - how to add a new service to start a custom server ?
I think Paul assumed that your programs (with a script in init.d) would be added to a piCore extension, so it would be loaded on boot. See "'Creating a piCore extension' (https://docs.picoreplayer.org/information/picore_extensions/)" You could call the init.d script from a [Main Page] > [Tweaks] > "User command" depending if it starts early enough in the boot process. See [Main Page] > [Diagnostics] > [Boot Process] for boot order and scripts. If you name "/home/tc/server/server.log" "/var/log/pcp_server.log" it will be available via [Main Page] > [Diagnostics] > [Logs], although it will not be backed up between reboots unless you add it to .filetool.lst.
