Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 8.0.0 - Bluetooth Discussion
Hi all, I was using RPi4 built-in Bluetooth before which was working ok-ish. I wanted to switch to using a Bluetooth dongle now and plugged it in and after a reboot it worked. Next day it stopped working so I did a reboot and now piCorePlayer cannot find the bluetooth dongle anymore, even if it worked before, so I know it has been working with this specific dongle. The error is: "No default controller available" when trying to turn the BT controller on. Some infos about my system: - piCorePlayer v8.1.0, linux 5.10.77-pcpCore-v7l (32) - Generic USB bluetooth dongle (works on other devices), seen as Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd - Raspi Bluetooth OFF, Wifi ON I've tried rebooting, using different USB ports, removing Bluetooth, reinstalling, etc. It also seems that lsusb doesn't detect my dongle at all (anymore). I think this is the main problem. Do I need to load any extended packages or so? Thank you! moritzg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72498 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114834 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Doesn't sound good for your BT dongle. If lsusb doesn't show it, its not being seen by the system. Hmm interesting. Just fired up a 3b+ with a fresh pCP installation and it works just fine with the dongle. I'm using the official RPi4 power supply so I'm thinking it's not that either. Somehow I messed up my system I guess. moritzg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72498 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114834 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
Hi I did search but couldn't find an answer to this ... Is there any way to have a notification of pCP updates ( or other component updates) e.g. like LMS? I don't tend to update on a whim but it's be great to at least have some notice of updates that one could review. Currently I seem to discover new releases by accident. The notification could be via the UI or via an Announce (only) locked thread where each release update notice could be posted (and to which one could subscribe). mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114828 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
LMS has a notification system, built into its web UI. pCP has a release page https://docs.picoreplayer.org/releases/ But nothing for small incremental extension updates piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
Have you set Ethernet as static IP in pCP - not the router? If you have then turn it off and see what happens. Main/Beta/Static If you have not set it there ... then the problem is that pCP is remembering the old IP address to reach LMS ... which is not reachable when the cable is removed. I am sure that this has come up before but I don't remember the solution. Someone will though.
