For the settings on reboot there is a menu item in the pCP specific part of Jivelite to make a backup - because pCP avoids writing to storage unless told to do it. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
So I have been using LMS for nearly 20 years now, and then went to Joggler devices to replace old Logitech Touch devices, and recently tried Volumio as a "modern" replacement. However, it's multi-room doesn't work, and spotify is broken... but then my jogglers all stopped working (contact me if you want one - I have 5 I think)... So I went to Pi4 with PCP and pi4 displays, and it's pretty good, however one issue. I want the screen to go blank when not playing (something I could never get working with the joggler without hitting the power icon). And this does work, I have screen saver set to "screen off", when not playing. However, when I come back more than about 12 hours later, the whole thing is not responsive and requires a reboot, and as this is PoE, that means going to my switch in basement. Also, the screensaver settings are all lost, so I have to set them all over again... I guess I am missing something in my setup, so any pointers, or tips on this scenario would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks, and happy new year! I'm trying to get squeezelite to work on a Odroid C4 with the Odroid HifiShield2 DAC HAT. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Noob Question - HDMI output with pCP/Jivelite and attached screen.
I don't remember if pCP is happy driving 2 screens. However, an alternative approach is to run some extra software to customise the output to a screen. I am sure that there is more than one set of tooling that does this - but I noticed this one was discussed recently. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?116489-Track-Info-etc-on-OLED-for-PCP I think the display part is generic and does not rely on using AudioSabre DAC. [SlimDevices: Unix] Noob Question - HDMI output with pCP/Jivelite and attached screen.
So, after SB2 died (see https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?117314-SB2-Display-died-after-power-loss) I want to reproduce it, complete with clock "screen saver" I've got as far as a Pi2B with pCP and Jivelight sending output via HDMI to receiver, which then displays interface on big TV and plays the sound. If I add a small screen to the Pi, will it echo what the TV shows? If so, does Jivelight have to be set with a skin that works on the smaller display? Many thanks Eserim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1932 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117326 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
[SlimDevices: Unix] Deadlock found on MySQL
I do a full automatic wipe and rescan at 5:00 daily. A while ago I switched from SQLite to MySQL. This gave a slightly better performance. However, more often than not, te rescan fails with: Error: Couldn't execute SQL statement: [DELETE FROM playlist_track;] : [Carp::Clan::__ANON__(): DBI Exception: DBD::mysql::db do failed: Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction [for Statement "DELETE FROM playlist_track;"] at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Schema/Storage.pm line 125] And my music collection appears completely empty. I then need to do a manual rescan, which always succeeds. The failing statement is one of the first in /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/SQL/mysql/schema_clear.sql. I tried changing that to: DELETE FROM playlist_track where id in (select id from playlist_track); But that turned up the same error the next day. I can't imagine why there would be a deadlock on that that table at that time of night. Certainly no other processes are running that affect this database. I found only very old mentions of this error. Is there anything I can do to ensure the SQL will work? I'm running MySQL 8.0.31 on Ubuntu Server 20.04.5 LTS. Thanks for any ideas.
