Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Squeeze on Arch on Wandboard: boot problems following update: Solved
Hi guys, That's me again. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out. My 16GB SD Card with SoA on it got corrupted. Unfortunately all the 16 GB SD Cards I have got are slightly smaller than my back-ups and as such I cannot dd any of them! I know for sure that the back-ups are working as I have copied one of the images on a 32GB SD Card and it worked. In the past I did the terrible mistake of copying the 8GB image on a 16GB SD Card. Damn it! Do you guys know how to truncate/shrink the image? I have followed the procedures I have found in the link below, however when I check the size of the truncated image with the command: Code: sudo fdisk -l the size looks the same. https://evilshit.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/how-to-trim-disk-images-to-partition-size/ Many thanks! albertone74's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105587 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Squeeze on Arch on Wandboard: boot problems following update: Solved
Hi guys, I just wanted to share something with you. After a very long time today I have attempted to update the arch packages on my Wandboard quad. I wasn't able to perform the update due to a compatibility issue with the file /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt. I have found the solution here: https://www.archlinux.org/news/ca-certificates-utils-20170307-1-upgrade-requires-manual-intervention/ where it is recommended to run the following: Code: pacman -Syuw rm /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt pacman -Su That did the trick. Indeed I was then able to perform the updates as expected. On more warning. Be aware that the file: Code: /etc/ssh/sshd_config has been superseded by: Code: /etc/ssh/sshd_config.pacnew This means that before rebooting don't forget to add the usual line: Code: PermitRootLogin yes in the file above otherwise you will not be able to SSH to it. That's me done:cool: -------- albertone74's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105587 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Hi guys, I would love to use the piCorePlayer as a portable DAP and use my smartphone to get access to it when travelling. Could someone please point me in the right direction how to install both hostapd and a DHCP server? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
Hi Greg/Ralphy/Paul/Steen, Yesterday I have upgraded to version 2.05 and everything worked like a charm. All the services like JiveLite, LMS, Squeezelite, etc are running fine. Many thanks for another super update! Actually the only service I have been struggling with is Shairport-sync. Basically I can see the piCore player on my iPhone screen, however when I select it the service doesn't even start. Indeed when I go back to the piCorePlayer page it says that the service is not running. I have replicated this issue several times. Of course I have tried to re-install the piCorePlayer itself and both Squeezelite and Shairport but to no avail. It is very odd as after installing Shairport when I check the piCorePlayer page it says it is running but as soon as I select the player from my iPhone and I check back the piCoPlayer page it says it is not running anymore. It looks like it gets broken as soon the service starts. Just out of interest I have re-installed a previous backup with piCorePlayer 2.03 and Shairport run fine. When you get a chance could you please let me know what I can check? Once again thanks for this great piece of software:cool: albertone74's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

This happens with both wifi and ethernet connections. I have tried to dd the piCorePlayer image several times but to no avail. I connected the RPi0 to my TV via the HDMI cable and I can see that it boots up but there is no way that an IP address gets assigned to the RPi0. I have also tried to reboot the router. The following command: Code: alsactl store 3 did the trick indeed Triode and I have now managed to save the volume settings of my DAC (card 3 in my case). Hi Triode, I have did some tests with alsamixer (on wandborad dual/quad) with both my DACs . What I have found out is that even in my case the default pcm volume from alsamixer is much less than 100% with alsamixer installed, indeed it is set to 46%.
