Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer DSD playback

2020-06-26 Thread nimnul

HI, Im using a RPI4 and this card

https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/dac-and-interfaces-for-raspberry-pi/ak4118-digital-interface-spdif-i2s-hdmi-lvds-raspberry-pi-3-pi-4-p-14255.html

Connected to my dac via i2s (HDMI)

https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/dac-with-volume/audio-gd-r-28-2020-edition-dac-r2r-dsd-natif-amanero-preamplifier-headphone-amplifier-p-12996.html

When playing pcm file, it works fine, even 192/24, But it wont play DSD
(DSF files)

DSPplayer plugin is there, the extenstion above as well, but no luck.

[SlimDevices: Unix] Optimal settings for Amanero USB

2020-05-14 Thread nimnul

I use a RPi4 4gb and PCp6.00 and use USB to connect to a DAC w Amanero
Combo 384 USB input.
When I use the USBAudio setting in the drop down menu it plays well, but
the start of the song (1/10th of a second maybe) is cut off.
For example on New Orders - Blue Monday, the first drum beat is
missing.

So what are the optimal settings for Amanero Combo 384 in PCp

No, all formats, CD rips, 24/96 etc.
Its like it takes time to open the stream. The effect varies on
different tracks after you press play, (depending on lead in silence)
But only happens with the first track, following tracks plays gapless as
they should.

Im plugging directly into my DAC/Preamp, which has an Amanero USB input.

Sound is fine from both PCM and DSD, but the first tenths of seconds of
the songs is missing. Like the first bar is missing.
How do I adress that?

If I use HifiBerry Digi+ I dont have that issue (but then I cant play
DSD)

Nope, it doesnt stick when I reboot.

If i Manually switch to root and then mount it using " mount -t cifs -o
username=xxx,password=xxx //192.168.2.30/music /media/NAS" that works
and LMS Has access

In fstab I have added that line in the last line, but apparently thats
no enough

[SlimDevices: Unix] Ubuntu w LMS 7.92, problem mapping NAS drive

My problem is that I cant map my nas smb://192.168.2.xx/music (login
details) NAS is a Qnap 419p

I can navigate to the NAS folder from my NUC with no problem, SMB/AFP
and all other protocols work fine.

I have moved from Vortexbox, but Linux is not my home turf.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 4.0.0

2019-01-19 Thread nimnul

I have set up a system with picore clients for many years. Now I have
tried the Pi3B+ as a LMS server, and it is probably the fastest version
I have played with (as compaired to Vortexbox, PC, MAC installs)
My library is about 9 tunes in 7000 albums, and the scan seems to
never run full, it stops around halfway through.

A clean swipe and scan looks like:
First instance Finding files catalougues is completed in 5mins, which is
very fast.
Second instance also runs fine

Leta efter filer/kataloger: /mnt/nas (99808 av 99808) Fullständig
00:08:34

Söka igenom nya musikfiler: /mnt/nas (10134 av 87488) Fullständig
00:11:38

Mediesökningen avslutades oväntat (Sökningsförlopp)
Total tid: 00:20:12 (19 January 2019 / 10:27)

After Second instance it reads "Media search terminated unexpectedly"

Both the Picore and the NAS runs on a wired gigabit network, both have
reserved ip addresses in the router.

Any clues?

Im trying to follow the steps on the home page.

Flashed a (brand new) SD card with the image
Putting it into the Pi, w Lan and HDMI, plug in power:
HDMI shows rainbow square, Green LED blinks 7 times indicating no
Kernel.img
(in explorer the card shows kernel.img)

I have another SD card with same content that does the same.
A third card contains another Pi project and it boots OK.
