Thx a lot guys for the great insights.

got the same DAC as I have and I think I'll bring my Rpi4 setup to his

[SlimDevices: Unix] Rpi4 + PCP 8 vs Audiophile Streamer

2022-12-23 Thread sdiesel77

Hi All,
I've been using a Rpi4 with touch screen and Picoreplayer 8 on it for
many years and I'm quite happy with it.

However, for a while, I keep asking myself, would there be a difference
of sound quality with a standalone "audiophile" streamer? (ie: Chord,
Auralic, Rose, etc..)

Anybody have been able to test and compare? [emoji848]

Thanks [emoji120]

Two remaining issues:
- I can't setup my NAS library. All fields are grey..
- When opening Spotify on my phone I can't see the Picoreplayer on

Hi All,
My Rpi4 with PCP7 just crashed yesterday and couldn't restore it so I
decided to download PCP8 and install it on my Rpi4 with Touchscreen.
And it's a nightmare since this morning I can't get it to work :(

I have installed PCP, then Jiveilte and LMS but here are the issues:
- When going into LMS on my PCP on PC, it doesn't find the Player
- It doesn't find the player neither on the Rpi touchscreen, it says
"choose player" and no player appear
- I also tried to mount my NAS library but the mount fields are all grey
and non clickable

Can someone pls help me, I don't know what to do anymore. :(

Thx a lot

Hi All
I just updated my Rpi4 setup from using my Synology Nas as LMS server to
directly my Rpi4 as server now.
Everything is great, the interface is nicer, more modern however, even

installed the DSD plugin).
The player seems to play the file but there is no sound and the DAC
doesn't recognize the file anymore.
Any idea?

Quick question, not really related to PCP 4.0, but couldn't find any
more relevant thread. Pls let me know if there is one.

I am trying to get the best sound quality possible out of my PCP player.
I really love the PCP/LMS Soft, really user friendly on both RPi player
and phone.
My current config is: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B + Allo DigiOne with LMS
installed on my Synology 216 +II NAS linked to a Chord Qute ExHD

I am wondering, is there a way to further improve the sound quality?
maybe improving the DigiOne by another card ? (Digione Signature or
other?)

Thanks

Can I then install LMS on PCP and still access NAS music?
If so how do I change the installation?

My NAS is a Synology DA216 II+

I've been recommended to use it with my DAC. As"apparently" the RPI USB
