You might want to add the fact that SC shipped binaries of sox, flac et
al do not run on Ubuntu 64 bit until 'ia32-libs' and its' dependencies
are installed, because on a server install ia32-libs are not installed
per default.

[SlimDevices: Unix] Getting 7.3.4 on Ubuntu?

2009-07-13 Thread probedb

Hi folks,

I'm new to installing .deb files on Ubuntu and I also don't know how to
get the latest 7.3.4 build?

There appears to be a guide in the wiki but it's ancient and bears no
relevance to the latest software from what I can see.

So how do I get 7.3.4 on Ubuntu? Do I need to add repositories and
stuff so I can use apt or similar?

Cheers!

Paul.

Hi Mike,

It's 9.04, I think it's called Jaunty? Only installed this past week so
still learning the ropes :)

Cheers,

2009-07-13 Thread egd

Everything you need to know is '*here*'
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/DebianPackage).

To summarise...

To install the latest testing release update your /etc/apt/sources.list
to include:

deb http://debian.slimdevices.com testing main

then update the package list and run
Code:

sudo apt-get install squeezecenter

And FYI, these are the current version mappings:

Stable = 7.3.3
Testing = 7.3.4
Unstable = 7.4

But these will change over time.
