[SlimDevices: Unix] SlimNAS - install on CF or external HDD
Hi all, Probably an old question but I cannot find a definite answer. I'm planning to install FreeNAS "embedded" on a 2GB CF card on SATA adapter. All my music is on an external USB HDD. 1) Should the external disk be formatted UFS? Its currently ext3. 2) Would it be best to install SlimNAS on a folder on the external HDD or partition the CF card during installation with a DATA section? I'm not sure if SlimNAS would prevent the HDD from spinning down if installed there, or if it would rw too much on the CF card. Any advice gratefully received! -- hubbaloo hubbaloo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30963 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74596 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Neither am I sure, but I'd probably install it on the CF if you have enough capacity. -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
