Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Which distro of Linux ?

2022-04-08 Thread Michael Herger
For the Docker image I chose Debian "bullseye-slim". Debian is well
supported, stable, and the slim version doesn't come with too much bloat
(GUI etc.).

Whether it's "the best" for this purpose is debatable. But it's
certainly a reasonable choice.

[SlimDevices: Unix] Which distro of Linux ?

2022-04-08 Thread sfraser

Hi , up until recently I have been running LMS in a jail on my TrueNAS
12.2 server. Everything ran great until I started having issues with
Spotty helper for FreeBSD not being supported in FreeBSD 12. I have
since moved the LMS over to a Pi for now with a cifs mount back to the
NAS for library access. I would like to consolidate the LMS back onto
the TrueNAS platform in the future and was thinking about creating a
Linux VM on the TrueNAS platform. I was hoping to glean from your
expertise regarding which Linux distro would be the most compatible and
functional , both with TrueNAS , and running LMS. The VM would only be
used to host LMS.

Thanks,
