What I forgot to tell you is that I'm a n00b on ubuntu. :- The installation of ubuntu 7.10 took place on a CDROM less Pico-ITX based Artigo that does not have a CDRom drive. Installed was from a USB stick. There for a small change on the Synaptic Package Manager was needed. After including dep http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main to the Third party Software source I also had to activate the universe Ubuntu Software source. After that I could select the SqueezeCenter package and all dependent packages where downloaded. In the end this http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-560519.html helped me. I'm tempted to write instructions for other ignorant fools such as myself to assist other users.
