Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] slimbox: wireless encryption failure

2008-01-15 Thread monroeja

I thought this to be the case as well, but, upon selecting WPA personal,
AES was still an option on my router...so I took it. I was feeling
pretty proud of myself too, being the only wireless network in my
neighborhood that showed up as CCMP.

First of all, I removed the spam link in your signature. Don't do that
again.

Second of all...isn't that what I said in the first place? WPA-AES is
non-standard, WPA2-AES is.

However I've seen a fair amount of "yes that's true, FOLLOW MY LINK"
spam messages.

AES has nothing to do with this. AES is only for WPA2.

Strictly speaking, WPA-AES is not supported as it's not a standard.
WPA2-AES is. It's kind of a fluke that WPA-AES works here?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] slimbox: wireless encryption failure

The only time I've had this kind of problem is when I've made a slight
error when entering the passkey. May be worth testing by turning the
encryption off completely and trying to connect?

[SlimDevices: Unix] slimbox: wireless encryption failure

2008-01-11 Thread monroeja

Hello all,

I recently made some slight changes to my router. My slimbox was
recognized just fine with my original encryption setup:

- WPA-PSK
- TKIP

I switched my encryption to AES and I started getting a:

Problem: Wireless Encryption Failure

message on the slimbox so I reverted back to my original TKIP setting,
but now I get the exact same error message after numerous attempts to
have it recognized. Emmm?

Any help would be most appreciated.
