*Position 1 - Oracle DBA*



*Length:* 1-3 Months (This is a medical leave fill in. Could go anywhere
from 1 month to 3. Could possibly go longer but no guarantees)

*Location: *Boston, MA

*Description:*



The DBA is required to have a good understanding of relational databases
and knowledge of Oracle DBA technologies in order to provide support and
maintenance for critical university database environments and comparable
experience with other databases (MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc). The DBA will
work closely with the sys admin, network engineering and storage teams to
efficiently provision resources and troubleshoot issues.



*Position Description:*

   - Create and maintain the database environments (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL
   Server) for all levels (Development, test, stage, production)
   - Patch DB software
   - Perform capacity planning required to create and maintain databases
   - Perform ongoing database tuning
   - Install new versions of Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other
   database tools that interface the Oracle databases
   - Plan and implement archiving, backup and recovery
   - Plan and implement database replication
   - Provide technical support to application development teams
   - 24x7 on-call support for production environments
   - Position Requirements:
   - Extensive knowledge of all aspects of Oracle 11g, RMAN, OEM 12c,
   Windows, Linux and shell scripting
   - Knowledge of MySQL, MS SQL Server
   - Strong analytical and problem solving skills
   - Preferred Requirements:
   - Oracle Data Guard
   - Oracle AWR/ASH reports
   - Linux administration

*Position 2 - Linux Engineer*



*Length:* 3-6 Months +

*Description:*



Sr Systems Admin will help develop and plan for the next generation of
technology infrastructure solutions and will work cross functionally to
bring robust, scalable, stable applications to the Tufts community. This
position will develop plans for the evolution of the centralized virtual
infrastructure, maintain infrastructure for deployed server base, ERP
infrastructure, and look to evolving technologies to increase the services
provided by the enterprise services team.



Position Description:

   - Plan, develop, manage, monitor and maintain Linux infrastructure
   including the shell server and other services including:
   - Provide advanced level support and troubleshooting Linux systems
   - Develop and improve tools for common tasks & processes
   - Work with other team members on production application deployments and
   defects
   - Create and document procedures for use within the operations team
   - Develop system build, installation and patching processes for Linux
   and Windows servers
   - Modify and migrate configuration management processes and technologies
   to Linux and Windows platform
   - Participate in systems architecture activities and on-call rotation
   - Position Requirements:
   - 5+ years of progressive systems administration experience in large
   heterogeneous environment
   - 5+ years experience operation or development/QA experience in
   Enterprise applications
   - Experience working in Agile team environment
   - Familiarity with Linux configuration tools (Puppet preferred, Chef,
   etc)
   - Familiarity with Virtualization, VMware, KVM
   - Familiarity with relational database technologies (MySQL preferred)
   - Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (Amazon, Rackspace, OpenStack etc)
   - Ability to code in one or more scripting languages (Perl, Bash, Python
   etc) as well as fluency in one or more programming languages like Ruby in
   order to develop tools/programs to efficiently manage the operation and
   maintenance of the environment using Puppet
