Job Title Hadoop Admin - Duration *10 months Location *East Peoria, IL Candidate Responsibilities *Responsible for implementation and ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure - Cluster maintenance as well as creation and removal of nodes. - HDFS (Hadoop Data File Systems)support and maintenance. - Backup and restores - Cluster Monitoring and Troubleshooting - Manage and review Hadoop log files - File system management and monitoring. - Design, implement, and maintain security - Datacapacity and node forecasting and planning. - Closely working with the infrastructure, network, database, application, and business intelligence teams to ensure data quality and availability. - Works with application teams to install operating system and Hadoop updates, patches, version upgrades as required. Typical Day *Responsible for monitoring the cluster answering Hadoop support tickets Technical Skills ***7-8 years in an IT Role ***Preference of a minimum of a bachelors or 2-3 years in a Hadoop Position *** 2+ years’ experience with the Cloudera Hadoop stack (MapReduce, Sqoop, Impala, Hive, Flume, Hcatalog, Spark - Tools and Parts of Hadoop) *** Cloudera Hadoop Certificate is a nice to have ***Strong Linux knowledge is a MUST ***Teamwork, strong communication and ability to cultivate positive customer relationships ***Knowledge of HBase ***Experience with Cloudera Kerberos Implementation ***Available to shift hours to accommodate some offshift support and weekend installations (one weekend a month there will be weekend coverage) Soft Skills *Team environment work with vendors and development groups.
