*Sr. Linux Systems Admin * *Duration: 6-12 Months* *Location: San Jose, CA <x-apple-data-detectors://28>* *Requirements* • BS in computer Management of Information Systems, or Computer Science with a minimum of 8-10 years of hands on system administration experience with all aspects of Linux and Solaris • Linux, Solaris administration platforms, Virtualization technologies (vmware, LPARS,VIO servers, zones) and VERITAS technologies (Storage foundation, VCS, SFRAC, CFS etc). • Competency in storage provisioning and installation including strong understanding of system performance tuning and troubleshooting. • Experience managing Oracle databases on IBM AIX platform is desired. Experience in managing application and web servers in a highly virtualization environment is essential for this position. • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and server deployments on Linux and Solaris platforms, understanding of SAN storage, and Veritas VCS high availability is a must. • Knowledge of vmware ESX (Vsphere 4.x is preferred) and hands on experience with working on provision of VM's, Vmotion and Vswitch technologies is a plus. • Experience with System management tools (Capacity management, Configuration management, Automation etc) and knowledge of shell and/or Perl scripting is a plus.. • Good communication and customer service skills.
