*Software Developer -* Big Data  - SQL, Teradata, UNIX and Hive (Hadoop)



Client is looking for top notch talent to join their data platform
infrastructure team. The candidate will be responsible for the design,
implementation and support of client's Data Infrastructure. Candidate will
work closely with business users and data analysts to design and implement
data integration flows into the enterprise warehouse.



*Requirements:*



Must Have: *SQL, Teradata, UNIX and Hive (Hadoop)*



· Expert in ETL and be able to lead ETL projects from time to time.

· End-to-End knowledge of Data warehousing and BI systems(includes
data modeling, ETL architectures and OLAP).

· Experience with parallel processing and architectures Ability to
quickly understand business requirements and transform them into data
models.

· Experience working with ETL in multi-terabyte data warehouses.
Experience in dealing with performance and scaling issues.

· Strong database (MySQL, Vertica-(is a plus) etc) and SQL skills.

· Expertise in scripting languages like perl/python/bash.

· Knowledgeable in Java/C++. is a plus

· Experience with Hadoop(Hive).

· Expertise in job scheduling(custom and open source), data
quality, metadata management and monitoring systems.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills



*Additional Information:* Communication skills are huge for this role as
they are interacting with the business to discuss how to speed up the date
for their daily deals and service offerings.  They are currently at about
a 10 minute lag time from a data perspective and want to get to real-time.
