*POSITION :  Performance Test Analyst*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Based on performance requirements, recommend performance test strategy and
provide written estimate of the effort and duration for that testing
engagement.
Plan performance testing for projects of various size, analyze results to
identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions to resolve
performance issues.
Design and develop performance tests for various projects.

Experience:
Required: 2+ years in performance testing and working with automated
testing tools or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Moderate experience with the HP LoadRunner Performance suite
(VuGen, Analysis, Controller) and HP Performance Center.
An ideal candidate would be proficient in all aspects of automated
performance testing, including test strategy, development, execution, and
analysis.

Familiarity of the SCRUM/AGILE methodology is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The complexity of the work requires critical thinking skills and strong
planning abilities. Ability to effectively analyze and diagnose performance
bottlenecks involving CPU, memory, IO, network transport and other IT
components
Familiarity with performance tuning principles, methods and tools.
Familiarity of methods, tools, and technology used in automated performance
testing,
Considerable knowledge and understanding of the Internet and all of its
components.
Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills, working with
technical and non-technical individuals at various levels of management and
non-management positions
· Ability to communicate with individuals at a level appropriate for the
audience
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
employees, clients and public
Ability to coordinate with project teams and business areas to explain the
value of performance testing, working in a consultative role.
Important to have an understanding of NM’s infrastructure:
· Knowledge of primary database engines
· Understanding of common application architectures
· Understanding of Windows server associated performance components and
metrics.
Desirable to already have experience in collecting server metrics and
reporting them using tools.

*5-7 years in planning and coordinating technical efforts for multiple
concurrent large projects, including four 4-5 years in performance testing
and with automated testing tools; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. *

*An ideal candidate would be either: *

*(A) a strong technical lead or “Performance Engineer” with an interest in
and proven capabilities in planning and coordination*

*(B) a project lead with significant technical aptitude. *
