Default Button

2011-08-31 Thread Pete
I put a default button a card that has a couple of field controls on it.
The field controls all have lockText set to true and traversalOn set to
false. Pressing the return key when the card is active does not execute the
mouseUp handler for the default button as claimed by the dictionary. Is
there some other setting of the card/button/controls that I have to use?

Regardless of whether or not it exists, it still did not make
android deployment work. I cannot even test on android systems.

This
is SERIOUSLY bothering me. First the revlet player causes me to lose my
biggest client due to it being completely broken and now this. Hopefully
it works and this is just a small glitch.

Re: Sound formats on Android

2011-08-31 Thread Admin

According to that article:

2) In there should be a sub folder
named platforms and a sub folder named platform-tools. Within the
platforms folder should be a folder named android-8. Create a new folder
in the android-8 folder and name it "tools".

That folder (android-8)
does not exist on the PC. I am not on the Mac.

This bug and the workaround was already discussed in the comments on
this Livecode/Android lesson (see comment by Michael McCreary):
http://lessons.runrev.com/manuals/2571/lessons/27389

[I wish I'd read the comments before I'd ploughed through the
instructions 3 times, and before working out the bugs for myself in
the Livecode debugger).

Also, the replacement DX file is to be found in a thread on the forum.

So, whilst there may be much secret sauce in 4.6.4, that this bug
exists and is fixed in 4.6.4 has already been recognised through some
official channels :)

(TBH I was rather surprised when digging into the code to find out
that paths to SDK files were coded into the script. Surely such an
external dependency should be in a config file that is read from the
filesystem when needed?)

RE: Sound formats on Android

2011-08-31 Thread Ralph DiMola
Mike,

4.6.4 is not released yet. It's in prelease on for pre-release program
participants. The bug report gives an easy workaround. This bug appeared
when "SDK Platform Android 2.2, API 8, Revision 1" was updated to "SDK
Platform Android 2.2, API 8, Revision 2"
Do you have access to the bug reports?

Good job! My guess would be the android OS and not Live Code.
Sounds like a encoder/decoder issue.

Personally, I am having a hell of
a time deploying to android. I wrote a small app to test sounds and
found out I could not deploy it properly, even though in another program
I can deploy to android without a problem.

I re-installed the android
SDK, installed all packages and tried again, but the android plugin in
Live Code does not like the old or new SDK and says "That is not a
useable Android SDK root. Missing aapt tool. Make sure your sdk install
has not become corrupted". I re-doiwnloaded the SDK twice and both times
it downloaded 100% and installed without incident.

Also, in running
the SDK manager, if you try to run any of the Android Virtual Devices (I
made one representing my Aconia tablet and my HTC Evo, plus the stock
one), it does not start and gives this error: "Invalid command line
command: FILES".

Any help is appreciated.

For your part, you would be trying to show how some 3D things can be done in
LiveCode, which I think would mean showing Franklin. Even if it's just how to
get started, it may save viewers some time figuring it out for themselves.

Normally I just live demo, but for this case I do have some screen recordings
that I will show, and live narrate. I'll record that as usual, and also show a
link to the screen recordings. The recordings total about 20 minutes, and I'll
show what I'm currently working on too, so I should be done in about 40 minutes.

You could if you want to have some recordings of other tools, or maybe even
just a few youtube links. You would have 45 minutes or so for showing things.

What would you like me to focus on? How long do I have? I would rather record
screen casts than present live. I can chat live for questions. Realize how new
I am to live code. I have unity and Shiva 3d as well. I've been messing with
game engines for years. I also have dark basic pro, blitz 3d and others.

Yes, I can do that. No reply from Lynn yet, but I've just proposed something to
Mike, maybe he would be up for handling part of the meeting.

Mike, would you find enough time between now and Saturday afternoon to learn
enough to show how you got started with Franklin? I know you haven't got
started with it yet, but if you do that now, it would be fresh in your mind!

Back to the mailing list - urlProgress

2011-08-31 Thread dev digifilm
Greetings All,

Just a friendly warning. I am back. This would be the time to set your filters
and rules.

:-)

I need some help with:

urlProgress url, "loading", bytesReceived , [ bytesTotal ]

Is there an example.

I found this stack:
http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/files/17?lesson_id=7285
but it's not compatible with iOS.

Thanks,
Debdoot

If you control both ends of the system and it mainly involves mobile
applications, consider using QR
codes,
which are designed for that purpose.

All these marvellous tools presuppose the above. And to have the above

Great idea Colin. I'd be happy to get involved, though my knowledge of tools is
limited to the (ab)use of various COTS (commodity, off the shelf) tools to
support techniques in the 'pre-BA' space - before one lifts the hood for
development. However, if anyone is interested in upstream tasks such as process
and requirements capture - or the basics of product and proposition management,
product marketing, etc - maybe I can chip-in some ideas I have picked up along
the way.

Coincidentally, talking of complementary tools, does anyone have a view on the
current version of Keynotopia for Keynote/PowerPoint/impress as an alternative
prototyping / wire-framing tool to the likes of Balsamiq? I tend to use Curio
for initial designs and software specifications but MacZot is doing a $49
bundle offer for the complete set of libraries. I wonder whether this offers
anything over and above researching and collecting a personal set of image
files?

Best,
