Using The iOS 8 Simulator

2014-10-07 Thread TERRY HASS
Hi list,

OSX 10.9.5
Xcode 6.0.1
Livecode 6.6.4 RC1

For the life of me, I haven't been able to simulate a stack (which works
perfectly in Xcode 5.1.1 and iOS 7 and below) in Xcode 6.0.1 and iOS 8. Even
though I start the simulator with iOS 8 selected, the simulator comes up trying
to work with iOS 7 and it's a no go from the start. I have been banging my head
against my iMac but that doesn't help much either.

ANY help, suggestion or guidance to get Livecode and Xcode to play nice
together would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

An Odd Problem Using Google Maps In Livecode

2014-10-01 Thread TERRY HASS
Hi All,

I have an iOS app that is having issues using Google maps. When the device is
connected using WiFi, all is well and the map downloads and displays as
expected. However, when WiFi is unavailable or turned off, all I get returned
is the error icon. This app used to work fine and I haven't changed the coding.
I have been searching for the problem and scratching my head for days now. Any
insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

LiveCode 5.5

2012-03-20 Thread TERRY HASS
Hello List,

I read this list almost everyday, but this is only the second time I have
posted here. I guess I feel like I am still a newbie compared to everybody else.

After reading the LiveCode 5.5 iOS release notes, I think I am missing
something very basic concerning the recent LiveCode upgrade to 5.5. Unless I
overlooked it, LiveCode does not support Xcode 4.3.1 (and therefore iOS 5.1).
Can this be correct?? Do we have to wait for the next upgrade for that
capability? I know another member put out a terminal based workaround to
shoehorn the iOS 5.1 simulator into Xcode 4.2.1, could this now be the official
approach??

Thanks for sharing ANY insight into what RunRev has in mind here concerning
this subject. I will have a very tough sell ahead of me justifying this fee
based upgrade without official LiveCode support for the most recent iOS.

iPhone/iPad App FINALLY Resleased

2011-07-25 Thread TERRY HASS
Hi All,

I am proud to announce that my GoldTrader101 iPhone/iPad app has FINALLY been
released and is available at the Apple App Store. It is written entirely in
LiveCode. Below is a link to the app page.

View In iTunes

Being new to LiveCode and to programming in general, this experience has
required something of a learning curve. I will outline my newbee lessons in
another letter at a later time. Thank you all for being such an open and
generous community.

Terry

GoldTrader101 Released Post #2

2011-07-25 Thread TERRY HASS
Hi All,

I don't know why my previous post did not come through with a clickable link,
so here is another try.

www.tdheng.com

I know this link is not clickable, but copying it into your browser will take
you to the app's page. There is a link on that page which will take you to the
App Store.

Thanks for looking.

Lion and Livecode

2011-07-21 Thread TERRY HASS
I upgraded to Lion yesterday. Now LiveCode is having problems. I can no longer
use the iPhone simulator. Lion will not allow LiveCode to select the
Developer directory. Any suggestions from the experts?

Thanks for your help...
