You need to control-period and terminate the current script which is running, then edit and save your script. Of course, I'm not aware of any other language which allows you to edit the script which is currently executing. I'm sure Andre or Dar will correct me here :-) For example: Smalltalk with VisualWorks.Lovely tool (for its time). Many fond memories. Re: News of Shafer eBook Publication Plans
Sounds good. Will definitely be a customer... ..h On 25.2.2005 03:14, Robert Brenstein [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: First, I am going to release, over the next nine months, at least 10 new mini-books in electronic form covering many of the topics you were expecting to see in Volumes 2 and 3, but taking a different, more topical approach. These eBooks will be offered for sale at prices ranging from $5 to $10 each. This new approach to publishing was a pretty hair-brained idea when I started this process almost two years ago but is now established. That means I'll be publishing deeper content on a somewhat narrower range of topics. Second, we're going to revisit Volume 1 of the book, produce a series of mini-books comprising its content (with corrections, embellishments, and enhancements), and sell these individually at $5-10 each. Great news, Dan! I am really glad to hear that you decided to go that route after all. It surely offers the most flexibility for everyone and will be easier to maintain with future releases of Rev. I think it will actually broaden your audience: some veterans may not be interested in buying an intro book but they may want to get some ebooks on topics they haven't worked with yet. Re: MacWorld part 2
Hi I used to develop relational datab ase applications apps for company internal use with something called Double Helix in the 80's. It was completely iconic stuff, you only wrote the names of the things, everything else was an icon. Stuff worked, could be quite complex. Maintenance was a bit of a headache. The tool seems still to be around and they are slowly being ported to Mac OS X, couple of years ago I tried the apps in a then current generation of Macs and the apps appeared quite speedy (in the 80's you could not call them really speedy). --h On 15.1.2005 19:00, Mark Talluto [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: On Jan 15, 2005, at 7:24 AM, James Richards wrote: There is a very real sense in which words can be viewed as icons, but complex icons which have certain possibilities of interrelationship built into them. For the life of me, I can not remember its name. Maybe someone out there used Amigas as well. It is very cool, but it too had its limitations.
