[revMobile] datagrid compatibility : first basic traial is negative!

2010-03-09 Thread Robert Man

tried avery simple basic data grid with lines in a form (just added lines in
content inspector).
Id does not work
-- the little lift on the side works but displaces nothing
-- line have no reaction (no highligjt and no moving!)

Is that a feature planned out or in in in a near future?

Re: survey

2010-02-16 Thread Robert Man

Hi .. from Paris.. I do hope that god will find the right balance between a
necessary commercial approach, and the kind of passionate and praying
attitudes of us sheeps around.. I made a few suggestions in that line.. in
my prayers send to the surveyor... to keep the forums and not replace it
with a paid one.. and find a place and an attitude and some rewards maybe
for the people who actively participate more... any thoughts??

I wonder what happens after god does his day diving.. have the sheeps talked
between each other and decided to talk to god?

Have a good day,
Robert

I wondered : has anybody received a mail from runrev warning about DVD being
ready and sent?? Or is it just a matter of waiting until postman delivers
the good?? Hi from France.

Re: 2009 conference DVD - audio/visual quality

2010-02-08 Thread Robert Man

Well regarding msg of those who are upset by the delay, ok this is long.. but
many of us who work individually or in a small company can figure out what
it is to loose a major partner, marketing manager, and friend.. within a
very ambitious period.. I tend to think we can also be grateful for what we
already have and for what is cooking up.. and there is not such thing as
perfection either .. I just do hope another talent will step in and join the
reunrev team and its leader. it can be very lonely at the head of a little
business, and that is no good for us! Robert

work ! Thanks again for your detailed answer and hope this can benefit to

[datagrid] how to search and show the result?

2010-01-26 Thread Robert Man

I built a simple list using datagrids, all goes fine. I chose to store data
in the dg cache. Except, that in any text application, you'd expect the find
command to work and display the results.

Currently, the standard IDE search finds a test word in the dg cache of the
datagrid. that's about it.

If any of you has an idea on how to implement searching and showing in a
datagrid.. or maybe this issue will be covered in a later version of
datagrids? thanks, Robert

Re: [OT] Crappy website

2010-01-08 Thread Robert Man

I disagree! Find the first, naive... much more alive than the 2nd polished.

IN the end, i'd really say...
a) is it a site to SEDUCE people? commercial..
b) or is it a site to EXPRESS yourself, and just GIVE ACCESS to your
pupils..

if a then, sure.. neither sites will do the job..
but, as I suspect it is b) then.. just don't bother tand do whatever PLEASES
YOU
(and let your sister do her site as she wishes i'd say!!! )

Have fun..

p.s; if you want a basic CMS site, i've developped one from andre garzia
basic cms sample on on-rev in april, and this I found was a very good base.

Re: WAV without QT

2009-11-24 Thread Robert Man

I have made a little app that uses audio a lot. And I found runrev so limited
as far as audio si concerned that I suggest we open up a thread like new
audio engine specifications group to push this up...

I ended up using extensively lame and quicktime.. but.. these have to be
installed on the user computer and for a little app it is requiring users to
hammer their machine before it can do basics !! (at least that is what they
can feel!), but more seriousy it is much more risky for developpers cause it
boosts problem sources.

i'm also ready to participate to group-library development (paying somebody
to do it but spreading the cost). [to resell it to runrev later!?]

We really need basic audio functions including mp3 (maybe by incorportaing
lame to the engine with all precautions only to be used for educationnal
puproses ) and providing a basic library to deal with wave files outside
quicktime like on all platforms (that means functions written in revtalk) :
minimal duration, timetopoint, split, merge, cross/fade merge, minimal
effects, standardize level, simple compression, and possibly basic
visualization (stacks already exists).

As mentionned there is a stack that visualizes the content of a wave file
that was made by.. (tactile media??) ?? and that would be a good start to
build a library since basics of opening a wave file are there.

Otherwise I was going to turn to java audio librairies.

Audio quality is so important for multimedia...!

what do you think?

Re: [ANN] tText and tRev Birthday blow-out

2009-11-24 Thread Robert Man

For your birthday i'm getting a present for me : ttext..!!

Thanks for that brilliant idea and implementation.. and for exemple of how
experience can be valuable and efficient!

Request : that the plugins can be visualized. For instance, to be able to
provide helping plugins with menus to insert elements extending the
possibilites you have provided at the bottom (i'm into structured editing).
maybe an option to make the plugin appear as a drawer on the side of tText?
That's my birthday present!

Yes! Definitely YES. Good to remind. Although I guess they re' at it somehow.
I personnaly do not think it is so important for apps, but it is as far as
communication is concerned, to my view it s to widden the use of revtalk and
particularly for revlets which are meant to be grand public.

revWeb - link to download the official image?

2009-11-12 Thread Robert Man

Hi a call to mothership or any inspired honourable member of the list :
In the html/javascript that loads a revlet, if there is no plugin, an image
should show up with the download link.
The original link to the image is broken. With the new runrev site, I guess
things have changed, but they sould now provide (for their own sake!) a
stable library of images with stable links.. hope the msg gets passed!
So for now, I just downloaded a runrev image, I could not find any new
revWeb one! strange..

[revWeb] new plugin : comments? really fine for use? Plus and Minuses?

2009-11-12 Thread Robert Man

Hi I just wanted to point I saw a massive enhancement of speed loading of
revWeb on safari.
its' fine also on Firefox
So for me now it is really usable in pratice, and.. well BRAVO BRAVO to the
team!!
But it would be good to have comments from other guys on other platforms.

Any MINUS?
- I have the hello world test revlet as a demo on a site. it works as an
image which is moved in a window to display a message; The image move is
rather jerky, not fluid. It's difficult to say to people.. hey that is
better than flash! . you mean.. what!?? smile..

Re: revWeb - link to download the official image?

2009-11-12 Thread Robert Man

Thanks, but! The revWeb logo is not included!!

(all media-ressources images can be taken easiliy from webpages, however the
revWeb logo is somehow included in the back image, less easy..)

The revWeb logo is important since it should be used as an image-link for
people who do not have the plugin, who have to be somehow reassured...

It would be even better to have a specific noplugin revWeb image, as SMALL
as possible, perhaps a reasonnable sized banner with just these 2 words and
pro look to convey a feeling of confidence... (like a security certificate?)

You should get this image when the plugin isn't installed:

 http://www.runrev.com/revweb/images/revweb-noplugin.gif

This is the img src that is referenced in the html file that gets
created when you save your stack for the web.

Re: DataGrid - drag Drop rearranging order

2009-11-11 Thread Robert Man

Hi ! Im' trying to set up drag drop from a formDataGrid1 to a
formDatagrid2.
• the drag reorder, within the same datagrid, as documented above, works
fine, great!
• combining both drag reorder and copy from another grid is ok too. I test
in the dragDrop handler if the dragDrop origin is the same as the
destination, in which case I do nothing and let the DragReorderDrop do the
work. Getting the dgControl of the dragSource and the dgCOntrol of the
dragDestination seems to workfine all the time.
• BUT the drag a row from one formDataGrid to another one, does not work
fine for me yet. The objective is to drag a row and have it inserted just
after the line it is dragged onto. Getting the index of the original row is
fine via the dragData variable instanciated at the dragStart.
= The problem is that I have not been able to get the index of the target
line.
I tried to get the dgIndex of dragDestination : does not work
I tried to get the dgIndex of the owner of dragDestination : works half-way
(starts working but stops working on 4th drop on a dgrid that has 5 lines).
So any hidden method to do that?
Thanks a lot!
Robert

Re: DataGrid - drag Drop rearranging order

2009-11-11 Thread Robert Man

solution to know wher you drop your gold is : put the dgDataControl of
dragDestination into tDestinControl
then you can get put the dgLine of tDestinControl into tDestinLine
and off you are..
p/p
I attach the working solution I have so far which is nearly ok :
http://n4.nabble.com/file/n585846/completeFormDatagridDragDrop
completeFormDatagridDragDrop
it's a fully verbose version..
p/p
What is yet not working is that the drop does not actually follows the
visual indicator like what happens in the dragDropReorder. Any hint
welcomed!

I tried to get the dgIndex of dragDestination : does not work
I tried to get the dgIndex of the owner of dragDestination : works
half-way (starts working but stops working on 4th drop on a dgrid that has
 5 lines).
