Launching rev app from file on Mac

2007-06-21 Thread Thomas Speitel
On a System 10 Mac I wish to launch a rev app by double-clicking on a
text file created by the app. I have the filetype with the registered
creator name. When the app opens I would like the text file to appear
in the app's field. Help appreciated.

App Launch from Document in OS X

2007-06-01 Thread Thomas Speitel
I've got an OS X application that saves text files with the
appropriate creator type (Apple approved) saved with the text file. I
would like the user to be able to double click on the document which
will then launch the application and put the document into a field.
How can I make this happen?

Thanks.

Quitting on a Mac

2007-04-23 Thread Thomas Speitel
I have a shutdownrequest handler for a Mac System 10 application that
gives the user opportunity to save a field's contents before
quitting. I realized that the field disappears before it can be saved
so I put the following script in the menubar to capture the contents
into a variable that could be saved.

--menubar script
on mouseDown
  global datacontent
get the htmltext of field data of cd 1
  put it into datacontent
end mouseDown

Everything works fine now if the user quits using a mouse and goes to
the quit menu item. What I don't know is how to intercept a command-
Q??? Any ideas?

Thanks
Tom

htmlText

2003-05-31 Thread Thomas Speitel
Hi Folks,
I gleefully put the documentation for my app (OS X) in the second card
with a scrolling field with htmlText including many pictures. Worked
great for a month. Then a few minutes ago I ran the app without the
ethernet connection and found out that the documentation text showed,
but no pictures. The pictures were being retrieved each time from a
distant URL.

Does anyone know how to lock down the pictures so that they do not have
to be retrieved each time?
Thanks,
Tom
