An automated petition might be interpreted as spam - particularly if organized by the seller of a commercial product. I would advise against this and suggest simply bringing the site to Revolution users' attention, as has already been done on the list. -- jeanne a. e. devoto ~ [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.jaedworks.com ___ use-revolution mailing list use-revolution@lists.runrev.com Please visit this url to subscribe, unsubscribe and manage your subscription preferences: http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/use-revolution

Just as anyone can distribute images under the Creative Commons or other license which were created with proprietary tools like Photoshop, one can license their Rev stacks however they like as well. There are many IDEs, some open source and some proprietary, and all of them benefit Rev in that each requires a Rev license to be used. If we step back and look at the bigger picture, this is not much different than those who publish open source executables like Firefox which run on proprietary operating systems like OS X and Windows. Krugle itself was designed using open source technologies. Code snippets -can be- open source (when placed into the public domain) even if written in a commercial language. Therefore, I believe xtalks should be generally supported. This is how they describe the krugle search engine: Unlike conventional search engines, Krugle is designed to locate code. Krugle supports code search by crawling, parsing and indexing code found in all open source repositories, as well as code that exists in archives, mailing lists, blogs, and web pages. See, they mention mailing lists. Aren't we a mailing list? It looks like it should be able to index our list if they only had an xtalk category. If you poke about on the krugle site it is stated that it is devoted to Open Source languages. and, Here, We, Go, Again . . . So xTalk is not a real language, but it can be used to build real applications. Hmmm.
