Zip64 support
Hi, Can someone please tell me the status of Zip64 support in commons:compress? I read that it was supposed to go into 1.1, but I don't know how to tell. Thanks - Chris - To unsubscribe, e-mail: user-unsubscr...@commons.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: user-h...@commons.apache.org

The people (myself included) who thought they might find time to do it ran out of steam and available time prior to the release and so far nobody has stepped up and provided patches to add support. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COMPRESS-36 is used to track (the lack of) progress. I think many of the reasons that made the Ant team develop the original ZIP package in 2001 (permissions, file name encoding and much more) may finally be addressed by NIO2 and some of them even in java.util.zip directly. And now we have some catching up to do, maybe we can do that in less than 10 years 8-) Stefan - To unsubscribe, e-mail: user-unsubscr...@commons.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: user-h...@commons.apache.org
