Re: Ofbiz vs Openbravo
Hi Bruno, Oh it's a big one ! :) I haven't had the time to look at it right now but I will take a look ASAP and create a addon. It's possible that I ask you to complete the helpdata file (description, goals, how to test and so on) when I'm done ;) . Nicolas Le 10/07/2010 08:11, Bruno Busco a écrit : Has Neogia people looked at https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-3373? It seems a great way to extend OFBiz basic functionality. I think this injection method could be used in the Neogia addons. -Bruno 2010/7/9 Nicolas Malinmalin.nico...@librenberry.net Le 08/07/2010 23:04, Matt Warnock a écrit : We are a small distribution-type business (less than 10 employees) and were hoping for something that would just work OOTB for our situation. Everything in Neogia seemed set up for EU and VAT, rather than US-oriented, which was to be expected. Maybe it would have been simple to change, but it wasn't all that clear to me. OFBiz or Neogia aren't easier to use for small business. And although as I said Neogia seemed better-behaved with respect to the OFBiz code base, it still was not entirely clear to me where it diverged and why, and it seemed likely that all the documentation for that was mostly in French. Having already spent too much time trying to analyze the Opentaps fork, I was perhaps too fearful of Neogia, and I elected for straight OFBiz, for the reasons cited previously. If you can clarify any of these issues for my own mind, and if Neogia would offer more ease of configuration or use than the OFBiz trunk, while keeping us close to the OFBiz development path, I might still have some interest in Neogia. The development model used for Neogia, when it was like opentaps, has been stopped with the 1.4 release. Now, it's directly based on OFBiz trunk, and the goal is adding functionnalities, component, or anything else via addons. One of the goal is having addons for each market type, and for localization. If you want to have a more OFBiz profession oriented version (data, screens, services, small modifications of the standard code, etc...), you can use the addonmanager. One of the point you have to take care is to separate correctly your modifications. Some of the addons can be given back to OFBiz and one of the good pratices is to make an addon for each commitable feature. This helps a lot for tracking bugs between improvements and jira. After, you know that I'm french, so I can help you to create a business addon on technical point but not on functionnal ;) Nicolas Merci d'avance. :) -- Nicolas MALIN Consultant Tél : 06.17.66.40.06 Site projet : http://www.neogia.org/ --- Société LibrenBerry Tél : 02.48.02.56.12 Site : http://www.librenberry.net/ -- Nicolas MALIN Consultant Tél : 06.17.66.40.06 Site projet : http://www.neogia.org/ --- Société LibrenBerry Tél : 02.48.02.56.12 Site : http://www.librenberry.net/

Modifying Form Data
I would like to be able to take data to be displayed in a forms text field and manipulate it before it is displayed. How can I do this? See below for relevant example code. Here I want to display estimatedSetupMillis as minutes instead of milliseconds. file: RoutingTaskForms.xml form name=EditRoutingTask target=UpdateRoutingTask extends=EditRoutingTask extends-resource=component://manufacturing/widget/manufacturing/RoutingTaskForms.xml actions set field=estimatedSetupMillis value=${groovy: return(estimatedSetupMillis/6);}/ /actions This doesn't do anything. If I change the actions section to below, I get a 1 when creating a new task, but when editing a task I still just get the milliseconds. Obviously when in edit mode it just replaces estimatedSetupMillis with whatever is in the database. I also have a feeling that estimatedSetupMillis may not be defined yet in the actions section. How can I make it so I can modify the data before it gets displayed? actions set field=estimatedSetupMillis value=1/ /actions Regards, Jeremy Olmstead

You will need a row action for that. Keep in mind if you change the field's value on the fly like that and the user clicks Save, the wrong value will get saved. -Adrian On 7/12/2010 11:04 AM, Jeremy Olmstead wrote: I would like to be able to take data to be displayed in a forms text field and manipulate it before it is displayed. Thanks for the response. When I change from actions to row-actions I get nothing. Not even the 1 when entering a new routing. Am I missing something? What is a ETL tool in OFBiz?
Hi community, Now I'm working on OFBiz and need to integrate it to several systems. I have to get data from several sources to store in OFBiz data model. I need to use ETL tool for help this process but I don't know what is a ETL tool that OFBiz use. Can anyone tell me what is a ETL tool in OFBiz? Regards, Chatree Srichart

it depends on the data form you using. for files https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBIZ/Handling+of+External+data if you have a db you can connect to ofbiz then you can create the entities and write minilang scripts to pull from the old one, map then store in ofbiz. https://demo-trunk.ofbiz.apache.org/webtools/control/view/ModelInduceFromDb your need to define a datasource in the entityengine.xml for your db, to use this tool. Re: What is a ETL tool in OFBiz?
your welcome in addition if you got the DB route you can write scripts to map ofbiz to the other db and use SECAS. so if say a createcustomers service is run you can have your SECA call your script and load the other DB. from you legacy db you can have scheduled services that pull from it to ofbiz. How to track back to product's configuration items?
Hi, When I approve order that contains configurable product (Configurable PC - PC001) and its configuration items, then complete its production run. Then I get new product (PC001_10004) as configurable good configuration. Hi Chatree, The should be a field on the newly created product, something like configId or similar that links back to a configuration. BTW I pretty sure you could have found the answer to this by searching the mailing list archives. People are generally more willing to help if you have already done some research yourself. Shipping from Multiple Warehouses?

Re: TaxWare status of 9.04
I've been slowly trying to figure this out this structuring of the GL for WA state, and I need a little advice. For a given county in WA state (I'll use Pierce) there are currently 30 tax jurisdictions. Sample: Location,County,Location Code,Local Rate,State Rate,Combined Sales Tax,King County Food Beverage, DuPont,Pierce,2704,0.028,0.065,0.093,, Eatonville,Pierce,2705,0.013,0.065,0.078,, Edgewood,Pierce,2720,0.028,0.065,0.093,, And here is how the GL looks (based on Demo): 20 LIABILITIES 0 22 ACCRUED EXPENSES 0 224000 SALES TAX COLLECTED 0 224100 SALES TAX COLLECTED USA 0 224155 SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - VT 0 224156 SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - WA 0 --- TAX = 6.5% 224xxx SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - WA Pierce County 0 224xxx SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - Pierce County - Dupont 2704 0 - TAX = 2.8% 224xxx SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - Pierce County - Eatonville 2705 0 - TAX = 1.3% 224xxx SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - Pierce County - Edgewood 2720 0 - TAX= 2.8% 224157 SALES TAX COLLECTED USA - WI 0 224200 SALES TAX COLLECTED CAN 0 225000 ACCRUED USE TAX 0 226000 ACCRUED RETIREMENT PLAN EXPENSE 0 229000 OTHER ACCRUED EXPENSES 0 So I'm wondering two things. If I need/should place the Pierce County sub-category, even though I won't be collecting tax at this level. Will I be sorry later if I exclude it? If I do include it, will the accounting module somehow calculate the cumulative tax at this level, based on it's sub-categories (2704, 2705, 2720)? Another issue is the current numbering scheme. Currently, it can't support multiple sub-categories at the state level. Are there any recommendations based on the upcoming sales tax issues we'll experience in the future? Should the Demo GL data file (I'm using 9.04) be changed? As it's currently deployed/numbered, it can't support the sample UT county ZIP code sample, which I used to figure all this out.
