List of worth-checking log files of OM and related software
Hi all, I was trying to troubleshoot few issues I am having and I had difficulty identifying what log files to check. I was thinking of having a one-page guide to list all the log files that might be inspected when troubleshooting OM/Kurento/Coturn and any other interesting tool that might be related. I am now using OM 5.0.0-M4 + Kurento + Coturn + Let's Encrypt SSL certificates. The goal is to deep dive into issues before adding new question to this list. Note: By the way, is there a way to search in the mail list archive other than manual search? Thanks and regards. Ahmad | Unix Home Academy https://www.facebook.com/unix.home/
Re: kurento.MediaPipeline not found
One more question I want to add (because I had the same issue last night): Q: What are the symptoms of this issue? Is it preventing you from sharing your cam, or sharing your screen, or both of them? [Not an issue] Creating Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates for OM server behind a DynDNS
Hi all, This email is just to share how I resolved generating Let's Encrypt SSL Certificates for OM server behind a DynDNS. If you follow the guide "Installation SSL certificates and Coturn for OpenMeetings 5.0.0-M4 on Ubuntu 18.04.pd <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OPENMEETINGS/Tutorials+for+installing+OpenMeetings+and+Tools>f" and you are running your OM server at home/small-business using DynDNS, then one step will fail which is generating the Let'sEncrypt Certs. After 8 hours of searching in the internet, trying different DynDNS providers and different workarounds, the issue is resolved by tweaking the command mentioned in the guide as follow: $ sudo -H ./letsencrypt-auto certonly --standalone -d exemple.com -d www.exemple.com # This will create an http-01 challenge and will fail for DynDNS. There are some workarounds that did not work for me. The easiest workaround is to change the command to below $ sudo -H ./letsencrypt-auto certonly --manual -d exemple.com -d www.exemple.com # This will require one more step, but it succeeds. It will ask you to create a token file in $CATALINA_BASE/webapps/ROOT/.well-known/acme-challenge/. Open a new terminal window, create the file and insert the token in it, save and then continue generating the certs, and hopefully, it will success as it did with me. Re: kurento.MediaPipeline not found
I had a similar issue. It was resolved by installing M4 and then Coturn using the guides in https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OPENMEETINGS/Tutorials+for+installing+OpenMeetings+and+Tools and it worked well. ``` * Note: If you follow the guide "Installation SSL certificates and Coturn for OpenMeetings 5.0.0-M4 on Ubuntu 18.04.pdf" and are you running your OM server at home/small-business using DynDNS, then one step will fail which is generating the Let'sEncrypt Certs. Re: Shared screen/Camera are not showing in OpenMeetings-5.0.0-M3
[Solved] I have just installed 5.0.0-M4 and then Coturn using the guides in https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OPENMEETINGS/Tutorials+for+installing+OpenMeetings+and+Tools and it worked well. Thank you Sir! Regards, Ahmad | Unix Home Academy https://www.facebook.com/unix.home/
