struts2 with beehive and jsf?

2007-01-28 Thread Simons Kevin

All,

I want to make a switch to struts 2 but I was wondering if struts 2 can be
integrated with beehive?
And if so, do I gain productivity or performance or is it better to kick off
with Struts2 and JSF only?

Dynamically redirect to a page

2007-01-28 Thread Omer Basar

Hi all,

I have another problem. I want to redirect my action to a link but the link
must be gathered from database and it can be chosen randomly. So I cannot
staticly put a definition for this action in struts.xml . How can I do this.
(Example : When I press a button I forward it to ClickAction and I want it
to redirect to another page such www.yahoo.com or www.gmail.com (it is
chosen randomly))

Thanks In Advance.

2007-01-28 Thread Dariusz Wojtas

s:textfield name=propName theme=simple/

If you use theme 'ajax' (eg. textfield nested within form with theme='ajax')
then it will generate a row with 2 cells, one with label, one with the
input field.
The bonus of 'ajax' is that it automatically generates validation
error mesage on the field level - if there were validation errors.
Look at the 'core' jar for templates. Different themes may generate
different output for tags.

Interface question

2007-01-28 Thread Martin Gainty
Good Morning All-
I saw this yesterday and thought this could never work (but then again maybe
there is a way)

package fu.bar;
class HttpSource {
RequestHandler reqHandler;
};

package fu.bar.*;
public class JDOMHttpSource extends HttpSource {
/**Constructor for JDOMHttpSource**/
public JDOMHttpSource(RequestHandler req , int method) {
 };
}; //class JDOMHttpSource

could one instantiate a JDOMHttpSource class and have any capability of
referencing a valid requestHandler (without implementing the interface in
referenced or base class)?
Thanks,

Well, that certainly won't compile. I'll assume you meant package fu.bar;.

 public JDOMHttpSource(RequestHandler req , int method) {

What wouldn't work about this? Perhaps I'm missing the point.

 could one instantiate a JDOMHttpSource class and have any capability

That depends upon what the interface is for HttpSource... you didn't
include any method signatures.

If your JDOMHttpConstructor really does nothing (for instance, it does
not call an HttpSource constructor and pass the RequestHandler, or call
super.setRequestHandler, or directly set super.reqHandler), then you
will certainly not have a reference to the request handler passed-into
the JDOMHttpSource.

I'm still a little unclear as to what you want to accomplish... or what
the exact question is.

Static invocation? There's no static invocation in
the code you provided.

  class HttpSource {
  RequestHandler reqHandler;

  package fu.bar.*;
  public class JDOMHttpSource extends HttpSource {

There's no interface here; what interface are you
talking about?

Someone already pointed out that unless you call a
super ctor that sets or explicitly set the
RequestHandler member variable it obviously won't be
valid.

The sample you provide does not declare an access
modifier for reqHandler; IIRC the default is
'package-private' which means that a subclass in the
same package would have access to the member variable.

If you are using Netbeans I found it helpful to exit the IDE, ensure no
java.exe processes are running and clear the deploy folder e.g.
rmdir %CATALINA_HOME%/work/Catalina/localhost/YourWebAppfolder
restart NetBeans

 Your IDE probably has a cached version of the Struts XML DTD; one
 which doesn't include a definition for the bean element. Try to
 clear the cache.

Re: [S2] To struts2 comitters, please include WW-1570 in 2.0.4

2007-01-28 Thread Ted Husted

It was marked for 2.1.x since we plan to refactor the Ajax theme into
a plugin during that series. The patch doesn't have to wait for 2.1.x,
it's just being grouped with the other Ajax work.

Right now, I don't understand the Ajax theme well enough to apply the
patch myself. Hopefully, another committer with Ajax theme expertise
can review the patch and decide what to do.

-Ted.

Hello,

Issue WW-1570 itself is 'just' an improvement, but since yesterday we
know that solution for issue WW-1665 depends heavily on it.

Can WW-1570 get a higher priority and be included in 2.0.4?
It 'only' adds some property to some ajax tags, and does not hurt.
Plase :)

Best regards
