This is a really good thread with a lot of valuable input: My opinion goes into this direction: Some stuff in JSF is really not so nice, one thing is also performance long lists take much longer than plain JSP. But you're still able to pick the goodies for yourself (form validation, state saving) and use plain JSP for the rest (bookmarking, long lists). JSF 1.2 works fine with JSP/JSTL, so now a soft migration becomes much easier.
