Re: No Internet after connecting to CS VPN

2013-11-27 Thread Jake G.
Hi Geoff,

I followed the standard method of creating a IPsec VPN using the built-in
windows client. I have done this uncountable times in the past and usually it
depends on the VPN router as to whether internet traffic can be split off of
VPN traffic. Also depends on the companies policies. Most large companies I
know do not allow internet traffic while connecting to their VPN, as it poses a
risk if the client PC is infected. From what I can gather off of blogs and
other treads, cloudstack does not have split-tunnel capabilities.

I could be wrong about my assumptions so it would be cool if someone could test
for themselves using the windows VPN client in either windows 7 or 8?

With out running the script I mentioned in my last email, if I checked the
connection details for the VPN network, no gateway was provide by the
Cloudstack VPN provider. I believe this is why internet traffic cannot be
routed out.

Thanks,
Jake

I noticed after connecting to the cloudstack VPN on a Standard Isolated network
that my connection does not have a default gateway. Perhaps this is the reason
I am unable to access the internet while connected to the VPN?

I had two interfaces one going for public eth0, management is eth1

here are my actual configuration file

DEVICE=cloudbr1
ONBOOT=yes
TYPE=Bridge
IPADDR=10.107.0.7
NETMASK=255.255.255.0

you do not have to create vlan interfaces, I was confused too, but by
chance I created bridges just as I mentioned above and install cloudstack
agent, configured zone and cloudstack created vlans

Scheduled snapshots doesn't work as expected

2013-11-27 Thread dan

Hi All,

For last couple days i was fighting with scheduled snapshot issue. I configured
snapshot limit for one of the account as 64. Settings for hourly, daily, weekly
and monthly also pretty high (but in sum not more then 64). Account has 2
volumes i scheduled snapshots for. Cloudstack created 8 snapshots (6 hourly and
2 daily) and started to complain that limit for 'snapshot' resources reached. I
increased maximum allowed snapshots up to 128, CS said that 'secondary-storage'
limit reached (it's configured as 512G). I removed all snapshots for that
account, it was reflected on the dashboard, sec storage utilization changed,
but still wasn't able to create snapshots for that account. Then i configured
'snapshot' settings for account as -1 and snapshot scheduler started to create
snapshots. Does anybody has such problem or i miss-configured something.

Dan.

These rpms are built from the 4.2 branch, so they represent the latest on that
branch and may differ slightly (be ahead ~4.2.2) from what we voted on for 4.2.1

I have not tried that type of upgrade, which If I understand you right, may
actually be a 'downgrade'. That said it should only be bug fix changes so the
schemas should not change.

My advice would be to wait couple days for the official 4.2.1 but if you are
eager you can grab those rpms and start ironing out your upgrade procedure
(from where you are at to ~4.2.1) on your dev systems.

I've recently deployed CloudStack 4.4-SNAPSHOT with XenServer 6.2.

I'm looking for testing OpenContrail Plugins , But i've didn't found
Contrail plugin under Server Provider Networking Tab .

Can anyone describe the steps to integrate OpenContrail Plugin ?

Thank you.

Hi,

Okay , I've figured the Problem , It was the Hostname resolution causing
the problem,

log4j:ERROR Error in crearting snmp object, cloudstack.cloud2:
cloudstack.cloud2
log4j:ERROR size of ip addresses , communities, and ports list doesn't
match, setting all to null

cloudstack.cloud2 it is my VMbox hostname , it troubleshooted the DNS and
it works fine.

Also I faced some POMs problem in the build of cloud-awsapi

4.2.1 anytime soon?

2013-11-27 Thread Adrian Lewis
Hi All,

Hoping that someone here might know what’s holding up the release of 4.2.1?
A vote was cast back on the 12th Nov which appeared to be all fine with
everyone eventually. Citrix have released Cloudplatform 4.2.1. As far as I
can tell, the only thing missing was finalising the release notes but these
too seem to be finished. Has CCCEU13 killed off all of the momentum to
release 4.2.1 or is there something else going on that I’ve missed?

I appreciate that beggars can’t be choosers but I’m too scared to try
building from source and am eagerly awaiting the ‘easy’ option of having
RPMs made from an officially sanctioned release.

Any info on this welcomed.

Many thanks,

Adrian

Hi tawfiq,

from the jenkins's build result, it should path the build process.
http://jenkins.buildacloud.org/view/4.3/job/cloudstack-4.3-package-rpm/

try it once again after clean up under the dist/ directory.

the setup work.

Hi,

It is not mandatory to use single dedicated vlan in a multi zone environment.
It is possible to have a dedicated VLAN at each site for vCenter, ESXi console
ports and the system VM's, and then have the ACS server sitting in a separate
VLAN that can route between both networks.

Thanks,
Sanjeev

Subject: ACS 4.2.1 - Multi-Zone vSphere Architecture

Hi all,

Im after some guidance on setting up ACS 4.2.1 with vSphere in a multi zone
environment. The only way I have been able to successfully build a zone to this
point is by having vSphere, ESXi console ports, ACS and the reserved system
range on a single VLAN. This is OK for a small, single site deployment but how
does this translate for multiple zones? The docs suggest that configuring a
single /20 range for management is desired, does that imply that that range
should be stretched across sites?

Should it be possible to have a dedicated VLAN at each site for vCenter, ESXi
console ports and the system VM's, and then have the ACS server sitting in a
separate VLAN that can route between both networks? I have been unsuccessful in
getting his working to date so hopefully someone out there has some experience
setting up a multi-site ACS/vSphere envoronment.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
