kvm快照问题

2015-09-08 Thread hang...@126.com
3.job.expire.minutes 为1440.成功创建的话时间在10分钟左右。
agent和management端log都没有发现error。
诸位有何建议?

CCP-4.5.0: Adding additional interfaces are not accepting on VMs if the VM has vm snapshots

2015-09-08 Thread anil lakineni
Hi All,

We are facing issues when adding additional interfaces on VMs if VM has vm
snapshots. Issue is VM not accepting to add additional interface due to VM
snapshots.

Error is: *Add netowrk to VM Action failed - Service Exception : NIC cannot
be added to VM with VM Snapshots*

I believe that this is not a correct behaviour of CloudPlatform, because we
are able to add additional interfaces on VMs with VM snapshots in remaining
versions of Cloud Stack.

Is it a bug on CCP 4.5.0?? Please let me know if I have to change/modify
any values at CCP
I will be Waiting for your valuable inputs. Thanks in advance.

Using CitrixCloudPlatform 4.5.0 and XenServer 6.2 hosts

Regards,
Anil.

Hello Cristian,

I don't remember exactly which option I have turned on, but some
of my networks allow IP configuration upon VM instance startup. Wizard
shows extra field for manual IP definition in Network tab. May be more
experienced people point what should you use if this is a case you are
looking for.

Re: CCP-4.5.0: Adding additional interfaces are not accepting on VMs if the VM has vm snapshots

2015-09-08 Thread Erik Weber
Hi Anil,

The links just explain what was done, and to some degree why.
I don't know much more than that, except that we've learned to live with it.

The rationale behind it seems to be that, due to the way CloudStack handles
snapshots, there is a risk of data loss if you do changes to the VM, and to
prevent that you are not allowed to do certain changes.

As for modifying the code, I can't really help you, that's out of my league.
But seeing that you are using CCP, I guess you could contact Citrix Support
and ask for their help, either in lifting the limitations, or fixing the
reasons behind them.

I wrote that article, it was for DB cleanup for 3.x version. I have updated it
here for latest versions and added more tables -
http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX200918.

I believe the error suggests that duplicate entries found when parsing records
in table user_statistics for network usage. '2-1-228-144117719' - this
translates to account_id 2, zone 1, network_id 228 and date Sep 03 2015
19:59:59 GMT-0400.

Look at the usage logs for log messages "creating networkHelperEntry..." for
account id 2 having multiple entries matching the above.

Somesh

RE: VPC VPN Connectivity Issues

2015-09-08 Thread Jeremy Peterson
No my issue is not resolved I've been reaching out to the IRC channel and have
not received notification of anyone knowing what my issue could be.

It would be great to get some traction this week on the issue. I keep having
to open ACL for public access to the servers as this user is unable to get to
the server via VPN.

Not sure if it is possible to use the IPSec tunnels from remote VPN. Firewall

VirtIO disk latency in Wins2012 - repoted wrong

2015-09-08 Thread Andrija Panic
Hi,

just wondering if anyone experienced bug - virtio or Win2012 reated, not
sure, but I expect drivers bug...

In Task Manage you can see average latency for IOs (I was doing FIO disk
benchmark inside Windows) - this shows 1000 bigger latency than what can
bee seen from Resource Manager (and FIO also confirms numbers from Resource
Manager)

Task manager shows ~2000 ms, while FIO and Resource Manager show correct
2ms value.

extended ACLs for VPC with VPC router

2015-09-08 Thread christian.niephaus
Hi,

while fiddling around with cloudstack and a zone with advanced networking, I
noticed that in a VPC I can only create ACLs, which are in Cisco terminology
standard ACLs. Meaning, the rules always apply to the whole tier/network. E.g.
an ingress rule allowing TCP/22 from CIDR 0.0.0.0/0 will always allow ssh
traffic to all VMs in the tier or an egress rule limiting traffic to a certain
destination CIDR limits the traffic for all VMs in that tier.

However, what I’d like to implement is an extended ACL (in Cisco terminology)
that also allows for specifying the source and destination IPs and ports. For
example, an ingress rule that allows only SSH to a certain VM in a VPC tier or
a rule allowing specific traffic between two VMs in two different tiers in the
VPC, like I could do with basic iptables.

Any ideas how to realize such a setup?

I know that I could realize this for traffic coming from the outside by using
static NAT and the firewall of the virtualRouter but then I do not have the VPC
feature, for which the VirtualRouter unfortunately does not support firewalling
but only (simple) ACLs.

Cheers, Christian

Re: Dynamic Scalable Template issue

2015-09-08 Thread Todd Pigram
Vadium,

After installing XS62ESP1028 via CLI (no reboot on hosts yet) and building an
Centos65 instance w/o ‘Dynamic Scalable’ option checked, it showed right in
XenCenter. I installed the new tools from (XS62ESP1028) and still good. I
created a template from this instance. Deployed said template, and the memory
is still good in XenCenter.

I tested on a Windows VM and it is the same with the new tools, however, as
this particular tenant bypasses the virtual router, I have to reboot twice and
reset networking as the new XenTools reset the networking stack.

RE: Unable to add Ceph KVM node in cloudstack

2015-09-08 Thread Shetty, Pradeep
Please share steps for adding ceph RBD as primary storage using KVM hypervisor
in cloudstack.

We are well aware of the best practices/recommendations for cloudstack.

Regards,
Pradeep

Pradeep,

 From documentation :
Warning -- It is NOT recommended to run services on this host not
controlled by CloudStack.

Good practice -- KVM host must be virgin-clean.

Vadim.
