Virtual Router Missing - 4.5.2 and Xenserver 6.5

2016-01-19 Thread Osay Osman Yuuni
Hi,
Something bizarre is happening to my CS installation. I restarted the CS
management server and now the VR is stopped in the infrastructure. When I
start it, it dies. In the log I find the following:

In general, CloudStack would not manage HA for VMware vSphere (as vmware
has this feature built in). I would recommend disabling CloudStack HA in
favor in native VMware HA to avoid any race conditions. You can also
disable HA in global settings to make sure it never kicks in. The
service offering that is created to be used - must have HA support
checked off..

By using local storage, you are forgoing the HA - no matter what
technology you choose to use.

I have a some VMware zones with this setup i've been running for at
least 3 years, so i can attest it works well.

One thing to consider, and you can check for release docs, 4.5 has a
partial support for vDS Networking. Later releases may have complete vDS
network support. However, if you dont really care about vDS, CloudStack
will manage the portgroups and vswitches, i'd suggest you start off with
ACS 4.5 see how it works. ACS 4.6 and 4.7 may work as well or better,
but i've yet to try it in production.

Lastly, make sure you get the cloudstack "noredist" build - which
contains the support for vmware and other proprietary techlogies.

ShapeBlue hosted CloudStack Repos have the VMware support built into
their RPMs.

RE: CloudStack - Virtual Router

2016-01-19 Thread Yesid Mora
Sorry , the problem that we are having it's that in order to establish the vpn
tunnel between the networks the cisco side needs to send traffic to the private
IP behind the VR. Cause the VPN is up but traffic it's not passing till the
cisco side send the first packet.

I believe that the keep-alive on cisco side it's just for the VPN to establish
not for the Phase II network traffic to pass.

Thanks.

Try something like this:

Subject: CloudStack - Virtual Router

Hello guys,

I'm having a problem with a IPSEC vpn between a Cisco and my Virtual router,
cause in order to start the traffic on the tunnel the Cisco side needs to send
traffic first to my site and then I can ping the Cisco site,

Something like this.

Virtual router site IP 10.10.20.0/24

Cisco site IP 10.10.30.0/24

So the tunnel is up but in order to pass traffic first the cisco site needs to
send a ping to my site after that the tunnel works just perfect.

Thanks.

Does images.rgw-lb01.cloud.bstelecom.ru resolve on your hosts?

do a 'dig images.rgw-lb01.cloud.bstelecom.ru' and paste the output (you can
obfuscate the ip if you want to)

CloudStack vShpere 5.5 (VMware 5.5 )

2016-01-19 Thread Cristian Ciobanu
Hello,

I have a some questions regarding CloudStack and vSphere (VMware), i just
need a confirmation before start the test.

  1. Can i use CloudStack and vSphere (vmware) without HA  ? like on KVM
  2. Can i use CloudStack and vSphere (vmware) only with local storage  ? like
on KVM

I saw many requirements on CloudsStack website but i don't  saw other
examples, this is why put these questions.

I want to run cloudstack with vmware on local storage and without HA.

Regards,
Cristian

CloudStack - Virtual Router

2016-01-19 Thread Yesid Mora
Hello guys,

I’m having a problem with a IPSEC vpn between a Cisco and my Virtual router,
cause in order to start the traffic on the tunnel the Cisco side needs to send
traffic first to my site and then I can ping the Cisco site,

Something like this.

Virtual router site IP 10.10.20.0/24

Cisco site IP 10.10.30.0/24

So the tunnel is up but in order to pass traffic first the cisco site needs to
send a ping to my site after that the tunnel works just perfect.

Thanks.

Cordialmente / Best regards,

Re: CloudStack - Virtual Router

2016-01-19 Thread Simon Weller
You could set a periodic keep-alive on the cisco side.

Try something like this:

crypro isakmp keepalive 10 5 periodic
