RE: Billing for services

2016-11-24 Thread Grégoire Lamodière
Dear Audrey,

The starting point would be to install and start the cloudstack usage service
(I think this step is well documented inside CS installation guide).
Basically, this service will collect and agregate usage for most CS metrics
(Instance running, storage, network, etc).
These metrics are then stored inside a MySQL DB (cloud_usage).

You can easily export these values directly from Mysql to Excel
(http://support.en.ctx.org.cn/ctx132030.citrix).

The second option (recommanded) is to use cloudstack API to get usage and
manage them with third part apps.

I personnaly tested Amysta few months ago, and it was pretty good.

Best Regards.

Dag, thanks for your return.

I'd looked at usage service, but could not figure out how to work with it, yet.
I've been reading some presentations from ShapeBlue about, but still coudn't
understand how to use it.

But I'm not sure, for example, if the usage service can show bandwidth usage
from each interface of the VPC. How can I bill for internet usage for example
if I can't measure only the internet traffic a user is consuming from the
public network?

If you want a commercial product that works with the usage server you can look

ACS internal name

2016-11-24 Thread Semih Tolga DEMİR
Hi;

I like to ask some details about vm's internal name. I have an KVM &
CloudStack environment and i have a vm named i-66-600-VM and its owner is
client_330. So in this situation i could not understand what does 66 means
in this vm.

I checked the documents and find some documents at

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/user+provided+hostname+Testcases

and my vm.instancename.flag is set to false. So in this situation what does
66 means, could someone give me a clue.

Thanks,

Migrate VM system

2016-11-24 Thread Nicolas Bouige
Dear All,

I have a CS 4.7 advanced zone working fine with two primary storage.

we are planning to change one of our primary storage but first we need to
delete the second one.

We have migrated almost all the vm from the second primary storage to the first
primary storage.

To migrate storage VM on Xenserver we need to install Xentool on each VMs.

Now, it remains to migrate only system VM from the second primary storage to
finalize our operation.

Unfortunately, as the Systems VM have not Xentool installed we cannot perform a
storage migration.

Do you know if its possible to install xentool on a system VM in use ? (Virtual
router and Secondary storage VM)

Or if there is a another way to migrate/change primary storage's system VM ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Nicolas Bouige

Re: Fault percentage value of CPU usage in Cloud Platform

2016-11-24 Thread anil lakineni
Dear Will,

Good Afternoon, i hope everything is fine at your end.

Please find my comments for your questions,

- do you have VMs allocated, but turned off? They will count towards the
provisioned CPU even though they are not running because they could be
started at any time and are expecting to have the resources to start.

*Yes, i have few VMs which are in shutdown state. But, AFAIK the CPU will
not be countable towards the VPS's which are in shutdown state. Because,
when i turned OFF/ON any VPS the CPU allocated and percentage of that
allocated values are changing accordingly. *

- do you have more than one cluster? The dashboard only shows the most used
cluster, but if you drill down it shows the whole environments resources,
so if you have more than one cluster, that could explain the difference.
*Yes, i have two clusters. if you see my previous e-mails i was already
mentioned that i can see the true allocated value in the DASHBOARD (i.e.,
800GHz/2000GHz) and the same value in the whole resources (Zone level) as
well. But when it comes to percentage value, the DASH BOARD value is
showing wrong (91%) value where as in the whole resources tab the value
showing is 40% and it's correct since mathematically the percentage of
800/2000 gives us 40%. *
*Here, the issue is with the percentage of allocated CPU value in the DASH
BOARD. Why it is showing wrong? and it causing us to fail the deployments
(since the cloud platform is verifying the percentage of allocated CPU
value what is there in the DASHBOARD not from the whole resources tab).*

- are you trying to deploy to a specific cluster with a service offering
tag? SvcOffering:WinL? Is that the most used cluster?
*Yes, to the second cluster (WinL tag) i'm trying. And the two clusters are
almost using in the same ratio.*

Is it a bug? my Cloud Version is 4.5.
Do i need to restart any services in the management server to get the
actual percentage value at DASH BOARD?
Do i need to hack the DataBase for changes?

*Please let me know if you need more information to help me on issue
resolving. Thanks.*

Best Regards,
Anil.
