Re: VM in incorrect state

Could you share the error here?
Could you also post some more information (stack trace of the erro, ACS
version, hypervisors used, storage systems used, networking
configuration[advanced or basic])?

I did that. Now I am able to Destroy the VM... but I get an error when I
try to expunge. I can recover the VM.. destroy.. .but not expunge.

Re: VM in incorrect state

I have already had this experience of VMs getting stuck in “Stopping”
state. It is quite trivial the task, you just have to make sure you are
changing the states of the right VMs. You just have to change the state to
“Stopped” on the database.

VM in incorrect state

2017-02-13 Thread Natalia Costas Lago

Dear all,

I stopped two VMs and it seems they where stopped but they appear
"Stopping" in the user interface. I have seen workarounds to this issue
that update the status of the VM directly in the database.. but this
seems risky to me.

How should I proceed? Is that the only way?

Thanx,

Kind regards,

Re: Adding new host with VMware hypervisor

2017-02-13 Thread Suresh Anaparti
When the new host has a different network config, Add it to a new cluster in
the vCenter and then add that Cluster in ACS with cluster override traffic
labels for guest and public traffic. Refer the params: guestvswitchname,
guestvswitchtype, publicvswitchname and publicvswitchtype parameters in
addCluster API. ACS would automatically discover the current hosts in the newly
added cluster and add them. Follow the steps in below email for adding hosts in
that cluster thereon.

With vmware clusters the behavior is the following:
1. When a new cluster is added all ESX hosts in the cluster are
automatically discovered and added to ACS with no host tag. If a tag is needed
it needs to be added to each host individually
2. To add an additional host to a cluster
a. Add host in vSphere matching network config of other hosts e.g. if vDs
is used new host needs to be added to vDS before proceeded to the next step
b. All hosts in the cluster should have the same name for Management
portgroup and match ACS global setting ‘vmware.managment.portgroup’. The
default is ‘Management Network’
c. Add host into cluster in ACS using host name as seen in vCenter client.
A host tag can be specified at that time. To authenticate to the host ACs will
use vSphere credentials cached for the cluster.

Re: Console Proxy Error

2017-02-13 Thread Suresh Anaparti
Hi Merlin,

It seems Agent is not running in CPVM. Can you please post the log
/var/log/cloud/cloud.log in CPVM. Also, reboot CPVM and observe the boot logs.
If you find any errors, please post them.
If agent is running in CPVM, check its connectivity to MS at port 8250.

Regards,
Suresh

Hi Everyone,

So after the Secondary storage giving me troubles, it is console proxy now.
It reads up and running.

But however,When I make a new VM and want to set it up using the console
view, it does not work.

I used the following url to check what is the problem.

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/View+Console+and+Console+Proxy+Troubleshooting

The first step, where ps aux| grep -v grep| grep com.agent.AgentShell is
typed, there is no response. The following steps do respond the way they
should.
To debug, I checked if the Cloudstack-agent/management server and java are
running on MS. They are.
I also checked if service cloud is running on CPVM and it is.

Could you please guide me, what to do?

I have been wanting to run this cloudstack 4.9 installation successfully
for some time now. But some error pops up everytime.

Regards
Merlin
