Re: How to prevent DHCp conflict?
As I learned this is a networking issue not a cloudstack issue. See my previous thread, Yipingresponse is what worked for me. https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/51e005eb7730124d1ecb17adb8ca995a4ae5114d88f6e698b2219587@%3Cusers.cloudstack.apache.org%3E HTH, Jesse On Tue, Jul 30, 2019 at 9:40 AM Fariborz Navidan wrote: > Hello, > > Guests have started not to obtain IP from VR. How to prevent DHCp conflict?
Hello, Guests have started not to obtain IP from VR. Instead, they are obtaining IP from a DHCp which does not belong to CloudStack network. It may be either an external DHCp server in nearby servers/network in data center or a user's VM which is running Dhcp server. All new VM reach VR to obtain password and user data. Please advise. Thanks
Re: Glusterfs vs CEPH
Wot he said ^^^ There as a Swiss based provider named CloudSigma (where I was one of their customers loong time ago) - they were using Gluster (loong time ago) and they had tremendous issues, reverting whole storage snapshots like a week in the past - all of the sudden you/me see crazy log lines where you actually understand that they reverted the storage back to past... Ceph does require quite a bit of knowledge on managing but is widely used (in general) and also with CloudStack. For searching - check this one https://lists.apache.org/list.html?users@cloudstack.apache.org (you can choose dev@ and other mailing lists) (Once you are subscribed for 4-5-6 years, it will be also searchable via your inbox :) ) Cheers On Tue, 30 Jul 2019 at 13:07, Nux! wrote: > CEPH is much, much more used with Cloudstack than Glusterfs (from what I > see in the community). > As a product in itself it is arguably much, much more deployed than > Glusterfs. > I like Glusterfs, it's so simple to deploy and manage, but I'm afraid > it's the loser in this race. > > hth > > --- > Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! > > On 2019-07-30 11:46, Michael Kesper wrote: > > Hi all, > > > > In many documentation materials, I see CEPH mentioned but not Gluster. > > Is CEPH support superior in cloudstack to gluster support? > > Or is the performance of CEPH so much better than Gluster? > > > > Thanks for your answers > > Michael > > > > P.S.: These mailing lists are not very searchable :( > -- Andrija Panić
Re: Glusterfs vs CEPH
CEPH is much, much more used with Cloudstack than Glusterfs (from what I see in the community). As a product in itself it is arguably much, much more deployed than Glusterfs. I like Glusterfs, it's so simple to deploy and manage, but I'm afraid it's the loser in this race. hth --- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! Re: **SPAM** Glusterfs vs CEPH
I'm not a cloudstack guy, but used CEPH and tested Glusterfs in openstack environment As a block point of view I recommend GlusterFs because of performance Of course because of IO types or hardware types many things can depend but if you are dealing with a lot of small io and want to get performance try gluster VM On 30.07.2019 13:46, "Michael Kesper" wrote: Hi all, In many documentation materials, I see CEPH mentioned but not Gluster. Glusterfs vs CEPH
Hi all, In many documentation materials, I see CEPH mentioned but not Gluster. Is CEPH support superior in cloudstack to gluster support? Or is the performance of CEPH so much better than Gluster?
