The error message says "secondary storage VM" isn't running.
So check in logs to see why it didn't start.

If it's in running but not in connected state, destroy it and see if you get 
any errors in logs

I am right now working on a fix for this.
Please take a look at issue:
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/issues/4498

Until then, the recommendation for those who want to take RBD snapshots is
to set global settings *snapshot.backup.to.secondary* to *false.*

Cloudstack 4.14 - Hyper-V support for Server 2019

I am a new user, we are planning to use Cloudstack v4.14, the hosts'
machines are having Server 2019.
Can you please guide me if this version of hyper-v is supported (i.e.
2019)?

As the documentation, mainly talks about v2012 of the hyper-v support, so I
am not very sure, appreciate your feedback.

Don't get me wrong but I think you underestimated the complexity of "we provide 
a cloud by installing cloudstack" part.

Usually when choosing to build an IaaS cloud (cloudstack or any cloud 
orchestrator), you also choose to have your own datacenter/cage/rack where you 
have full control of the network (vlan, public IPs, storage)

I would recommend to get in touch with https://www.shapeblue.com/ and ask for 
consulting about your PoC. It will probably save you time and money before 
taking any other action.

Console Proxy on VMware ESXi?

Hi,

Is there still a requirement to modify the ESXi firewall for VM console proxy?  
Documented process is for older version so I wasn't sure if it was still 
relevant for ESXi 6.5 and 6.7+.  I ask because when I launch the VM proxy I 
just get a blank window.  Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot?

Extend Port Range for CloudStack Console Proxy
(Applies only to VMware vSphere version 4.x)
You need to extend the range of firewall ports that the console proxy works 
with on the hosts. This is to enable the console proxy to work with 
VMware-based VMs. The default additional port range is 59000-6. To extend 
the port range, log in to the VMware ESX service console on each host and run 
the following commands:
esxcfg-firewall -o 59000-6,tcp,in,vncextras
esxcfg-firewall -o 59000-6,tcp,out,vncextras

I have this bug all the time, snapshots are done correctly on Ceph / RBD but we 
can't make new templates from them. 

Each attempt to copy a volume to Secondary Storage ends with this message (XML 
error: missing storage pool source).

Let's save ourselves by loading templates from external URLs, no problem here.

Cloudstack SAML auth

Hi All

I'm trying to secure our Cloudstack<->Redhat SSO communication, but not very 
successful.

As soon as I activate "Encrypt Assertions", I only receive

Failed to find admin configured username attribute in the SAML 
Response. Please ask your administrator to check SAML user attribute 
name.

Currently, we're using CS 4.14 and RedHat SSO 7.3.8

Maybe, someone has an idea, what we could possibly doing wrong..
