Apologies for the copy/paste error. I meant to say - "I've created a
4.17.2.0 release, with the following artifacts up for a vote" on this

2022-12-12 Thread Rohit Yadav
All,

I've created a 4.15.2.0 release, with the following artifacts up for a vote:

Git Branch and Commit SHA:
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/tree/4.17.2.0-RC20221212T1420
Commit: bd782690118adebcb7433bdf2ec938f3a561579b

Source release (checksums and signatures are available at the same
location):
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/cloudstack/4.17.2.0/

PGP release keys (signed using 5ED1E1122DC5E8A4A45112C2484248210EE3D884):
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/cloudstack/KEYS

The vote will be open for 72 hours, until 15 Dec 2022.

For sanity in tallying the vote, can PMC members please be sure to indicate
"(binding)" with their vote?

[ ] +1 approve
[ ] +0 no opinion
[ ] -1 disapprove (and the reason why)

For users' convenience, the packages from this release candidate (RC1) and
4.17.2 systemvmtemplates are available here:
https://download.cloudstack.org/testing/4.17.2.0-RC1/ (building/uploading)
https://download.cloudstack.org/systemvm/4.17/

Documentation is not published yet, but the following may be referenced for
general upgrade-related instructions:
https://docs.cloudstack.apache.org/en/4.17.1.0/upgrading/upgrade/upgrade-4.17.html

List of changes included in this minor release over 4.17.1.0 can be
referenced here:

F5 Network Plugin in CloudStack Build and 4.17 releases

2022-12-12 Thread Rohit Yadav
All,

While cutting RC for 4.17.2.0, I found that due to a build regression [1] we
are no longer building the F5 network plugin and bundling it with the
management server. This has been happening since 4.17 release, and given that
the plugin hasn't been maintained for years it's possible nobody is using it.
Please advise if in case you're using it. I've created a ticket to address this
[1] in future release (or follow due process to deprecate/remove it).

Re: Rocky 9 and CS 4.17.1.0

Hi Jeremy, All,

EL9/Rocky9 isn't supported yet. There is a work-in-progress PR for this
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/pull/6844

I’m running Cloudstack 4.17.1.0 and for unknown reasons, I’m having issues
running Rocky 9. Kernel begins to boot and then it looks like it fails on
loading initrd and I get a kernel oops. Just curious if this is a known issue
or if there’s a work around. I tried using the qcow2 image from Rocky as well
and just using the install iso to create a new image. Same result.

Rocky 8 works fine.

Anyone running Rocky 9?

Thanks
-jeremy

Re: Kubernetes architecture in ACS

2022-12-12 Thread Mevludin Blazevic

Hi Vivek,

we are using KCS in our Private Cloud infrastructure (Advanced Zone with
Security Groups). After some bug fixes which came with ACS 4.17.0
regarding Security Group assignment to the KCS nodes, all KCS can be
deployed with the latest Cloudstack release.

We have a test environment also with Advanced Zone without Security
Groups. While deploying KCS, an SSLHandshakeException never occurred. I
guess there is something odd with the Cloudstack Management and
Cloudstack Agent connection. A similar issue occurred while I removed
cloudstack-agent from one of our hosts and perform a reinstall. It
turned out that the installation content in /etc/cloudstack (in RHEL 8)
must be deleted before reinstalling clodustack-agent. After that, adding
the host to the management server was successful.

Furthermore, we are facing the same issue that the ssh connection to our
KCS nodes is not working. This Github issue seems to address the
problem: https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/issues/6929#issue-1469353248
