CS 4.3.2 not reconnecting after losing connection to the database.
Hello, We have an environment that we are currently stress testing fault tolerance and we ran into an issue that I can't seem to find much on. If Cloudstack loses connection to the database server, it gives up reconnecting pretty quickly. We rebooted the database server to see if Cloudstack would reconnect when it came back up and it fails to reconnect. Is there something we can adjust so Cloudstack will reconnect without having to restart cloudstack-management? -- Thanks, *Dave Hoffman* System Administrator | Appcore - the business of cloud computing® Office +1.800.735.7104 | Fax +1.515.612.7878 Direct +1.515.612.7808 | Mobile +1.515.966.4633 dave.hoff...@appcore.com | www.appcore.com -- The information in this message is intended for the named recipients only. Unable to use console proxy with vCenter 5.5
We have an environment with Cloudstack 4.3.2 and vCenter 5.5. We can start vms without issue from templates and ISO but we cannot get the console proxy to return a usable console session. The console proxy vm starts, it can get out to the internet, it can hit the hypervisors on 443 and 80 but it will not return a usable consoly proxy session. The logs have been pretty much useless and tcpdumping the traffic hasn't yielded much information. The cert has been applied and the DNS is resolving correctly but we do not see much traffic going from the console proxy vm to vCenter when requesting a console proxy session. Any help on where to look would be great. Re: Unable to use console proxy with vCenter 5.5
Somesh/Suresh, If I disable the use of SSL I can use the console proxy once I allow the unsigned proxy to run in Chrome. When I put in the domain in again, load the cert again then destroy the vm, it temporarily works until the next keystore check, fails, then sets the certificate back to realhostip.com with the following: 2015-03-20 14:26:19,470 WARN [c.c.u.n.Link] (AgentManager-Selector:null) SSL: Fail to find the generated keystore. Loading fail-safe one to continue. That matches this issue: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-5946 I have opened this issue for my initial issue with the console proxy: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-8337 On Wed, Mar 18, 2015 at 12:35 AM, Suresh Sadhu wrote: > Is it upgraded environment its fresh setup. > > Check the following : > 1. keystore table in your database has right keys. > 2. global configuration parameters related console proxy url has right > domain information and it should be *.yourdomain.com in case of secure > communication and for http mode it should be empty. > 3. once you successfully uploaded certificates ,check the console proxy > whether your certificate is uploaded or not. Re: CS 4.3.2 - VPC VPN client IP not routable to network
We tried changing the global setting but it is not taking effect after restarting cloudstack-management, after removing and recreating vpn account or even adding new users to the account to trigger an update of some kind. After restarting the VPC and destroying the router multiple times it is still using the 10.1.2.0 network for VPN clients. We have changed this at the global settings level as well as changing it in the account level setting: remote.access.vpn.client.iprange Neither have changed the default ip range. Looking into the database I did notice that the updated column was still set to the install date for remote.access.vpn.client.iprange instead of todays date. I'm wondering if that needs to update to trigger the change? +--+-+-+ | name | value | default_value | updated | +--+-+-+ | remote.access.vpn.client.iprange | 192.168.147.2-192.168.147.9 | 10.1.2.1-10.1.2.8 | 2015-02-05 22:09:37 | +--+-+---+-+ On Mon, Jun 1, 2015 at 4:18 PM, Dave Hoffman wrote: > Ah, that makes sense. Re: SystemVM attempts to use incorrect hypervisor on router creation after host tags have been applied
I am aware that it cannot find a VMware host that is tagged Xen. That is intentional. I have 2 Xen clusters that are able to run the cloud router but, Cloudstack is still trying to use vmware for the hypervisor to launch the template. I am wondering if there is not logic to use all hypervisors in a cloud and Cloudstack assumes if you launch a vm on a certain hypervisor, the cloud router MUST be launched on the same hypervisor. If that's the case, I'm guessing we may have to remove the vmware system template and test if that works as XenServer will then be the only choice. Using cloudstack-set-guest-password with a desktop environment
Hello all, We have a customer that has been fighting with adding the password reset script to CentOS 6.5 running Gnome. It is not being run on boot no matter where we have placed the file We followed the instructions on the site placing it in /etc/init.d/, making it executable and adding it to chkconfig. No luck. Added it to /etc/gdm/init.d/Default, nothing. Added it to /etc/rc.local to try to get it to run after all other scripts and no luck either. Running the script manually pulls down the new password and if you log out and back in the new password is set. Has anyone else gotten this to work in CentOS with a gui (Gnome or KDE) or in Ubuntu with Unity?
Re: Using cloudstack-set-guest-password with a desktop environment
I can run the script manually once I'm logged in with the original password and it pulls in the new password without issue. I just checked and at this time a firewall isn't even running. Do you have an NFS share created and added to Cloudstack for it to use as Secondary Storage? - Original Message - From: "motty cruz" To: users@cloudstack.apache.org Sent: Monday, September 30, 2013 8:43:05 PM Subject: cloudstack 4.1 KVM There no secondary storage for secondary VM Hello, I need help! I have installed CloudStack 4.1 on CentOS, I have two hypervisors KVM running on CentOS 6.4. both KVM hypervison have 2 network cards one have static public IP and 2nd has a private IP. can someone point the steps to have basic network to run with CloudStack? currently I have cloudstack working but the error I'm getting is "There are no secondary storage for secondary VM" I know is because my network interfaces are not configure correctly. Thanks, Motty
Re: limit setting firewall
You can edit what each user type can view by adding/removing options from /usr/share/cloudstack-management/webapps/client/scripts/cloudStack.js Default: else { //normal user return ["dashboard", "instances", "storage", "network", "templates", "accounts", "events"]; Without Network: else { //normal user return ["dashboard", "instances", "storage", "templates", "accounts", "events"]; More information on UI customization: http://www.slideshare.net/cloudstack/cloudstack-ui-customization On Tue, Jan 7, 2014 at 8:38 AM, Hollman Enciso R. wrote: > Hello all. > > I'm just wanna know if it's possible to remove the privilege to the users > to configure the firewall settings like nat, port forwarding etc.. ? > > I want that just the administrator configure this. > It's possible? > > thanks > > -- > Hollman Eduardo Enciso R. > http://nexxuz.com > http://algolibre.com <http://www.hollmanenciso.com/> > @hollman > -- Thanks, *Dave Hoffman* System Administrator | Appcore - the business of cloud computing® Office +1.800.735.7104 | Fax +1.515.612.7878 Direct +1.515.612.7808 | Mobile +1.515.966.4633 dave.hoff...@appcore.com | www.appcore.com -- The information in this message is intended for the named recipients only. Re: issue creating a template with some service offering
It looks like your host is in an avoid set and cannot be used for deploying new vms. 1. 2014-01-0809:10:42,798DEBUG[cloud.deploy.FirstFitPlanner](Job-Executor-5:job-43=[84f54047-8d50-47c0-b251-bb2798378806])Listing clusters in order of aggregate capacity, that have(atleast one host with)enough CPU and RAM capacity under this Zone:1 2. 2014-01-0809:10:42,801DEBUG[cloud.deploy.FirstFitPlanner](Job-Executor-5:job-43=[84f54047-8d50-47c0-b251-bb2798378806])Removing from the clusterId list these clusters from avoid set:[1] 3. 2014-01-0809:10:42,804DEBUG[cloud.deploy.FirstFitPlanner](Job-Executor-5:job-43=[84f54047-8d50-47c0-b251-bb2798378806])No clusters found after removing disabled clusters and clusters in avoid list, returning. 4. 2014-01-0809:10:42,808DEBUG[cloud.vm.UserVmManagerImpl](Job-Executor-5:job-43=[84f54047-8d50-47c0-b251-bb2798378806])Destroying vm VM[User|userver]as it failed to create on Host with Id:null This typically happens when Cloudstack has an issue deploying on that host or cluster. It will mark it as avoid and move to the next host/cluster if available. I would look further up in your log to see if there was another issue prior to this one. Can you still deploy vms with the x2 service offering? x4? Can you deploy multiple vms with the x2 in the environment? What version of XenServer are you runnings? Try running xe-toolstack-restart on the host/pool master to force a refresh from Cloudstack. If that doesn't work you may have to restart the host or remove the host from Cloudstack and add it back into Cloudstack. Also check your storage on the Host and/or SAN to make sure that is still communicating correctly. On 01/08/2014 08:29 AM, Hollman Enciso R. wrote: Hello all. All of the above. KVM is our leading hypervisor at the moment. On 02/05/2014 08:24 PM, Maurice Lawler wrote: Just a general question What is YOUR favorite setup? KVM? Xen? Re: KVM Snapshot issues
First thing I'm seeing at the top of the error log is that a system vm cannot communicate over port 8250 to 10.100.0.10 which looks to be a host. If the secondary storage vm cannot communicate with the host, it cannot copy the snapshot from the host and move it to secondary storage. That would explain why the vm starts to perform a snapshot and then fail when it attempts to move it to the secondary storage. I would investigate that networking issue first. Ports used by Cloudstack: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/Ports+used+by+CloudStack On 02/09/2014 07:57 PM, Tanner Danzey wrote: Hello all, me again. After fixing some issues, I've narrowed my KVM snapshot issues down to some more specific errors. Here is a log of both the management server and the agent log from the hypervisor the snapshot is supposed to run on. http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=Lu0VBPn2 Not captured by those logs: I try taking a snapshot by using the snapshot button in the instance. Whether the instance is running or not, it tells me that KVM snapshots aren't enabled. The snapshots are enabled, I checked and double checked in global settings. After that, I went to Storage and selected the root volume for the instance. From there, I can click the snapshot volume button and the snapshot *does in fact* begin, however, after an unknown amount of time (takes too long for me to actually know how long) it fails with an internal error (3). I have several snapshots of the process and result, but I feel like there shouldn't be attachments to list messages, so if you want them I can send them to you. The logs coincide with the screenshots. After failing, the snapshot is stuck with the status of "CreatedOnPrimary" and can only be deleted. My question is, what am I doing wrong? Are there any steps that I have missed? How do other users have KVM snapshots set up?
