Yes, restarted network with clean up but did not helped.

Just now found that is redundant router is enabled, just change via mysql
redundant to 0 - router is up!

But now another problem with errors, then errors starting, we can't
shutdown, start, restart vm's :(

cloudstack Can't find at least one running router!

2020-09-03 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
Hello,

Few days ago we found that our virtual router get a lot of error.

EXT4-fs error like find_extent or remove space truncate and so on (can't
copy from the screenshot:( )

We decide to reboot few times VR - after reboot all VM's started, but in
next few h after reboot situation the same: errors and so on.

We tried to delete vr and force to start new one - the same errors. Tried
to reboot few times for auto-fsck did not helped and its totally died...

Does anyone have any idea how to start router? We tryed everything what we
knew

Virtual Router nameserver change

2016-09-04 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
Hello,

I have one problem with virtual router and nameserver.

After creating new instance i have 3 nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf file

nameserver mine_ip
nameserver public_ip
nameserver public_ip

Is it possible to change places like:

nameserver public_ip
nameserver public_ip
nameserver mine_ip

or just delete mine nameserver ip?

If nameserver first with mine ip addresses, then internet speed
dramatically goes down by 10-20 times or even more.

If i put mine nameserver manually into last place - speed is back to
normal...

Debian 8.5 template

2016-08-14 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
Hello,

does anyone create template for Debian 8.5?

I can create, but after server is booted, do not working SSH because of
invalid rsa key.

Hostname changed, password also changed.

The solution is onlye to reinstall openssh-server to get started, but how
to do it on boot from template?

Does anyone have solution?

Re: Primary storage calculation

Yes, thats true, but ridiculous is then you have ~500 templates with
20-160GB of space, and use primary storage ~10TB then you start thinking -
should i really use xen:)

Hello,

vdi is showing correctly, i tested today templates, and here is a problem.

If i run instance from ISO - space taked normaly, if i run instance from
templates - space taking double (creating instance 20gb, primary storage
take 40gb, after deleting instance - only 20gb deleted).

version of cloudstack 4.7.1
Type: xenserver
primary storage - scaleio with lvmohba (presetup).

I think, it can be with expunge time, because it was set to 24h after
expunge the VM.

does anyone have idea, why it's showing much more used space.

There is no volumes, snapshots, VM's and so on. Clear servers. Just
creating templates which ofcourse saved into secondary storage:)

ACS+Scaleio like primary storage

2016-08-01 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
Hello to everyone,

At first, want to say thank you to Marcelo Lima for helping to run ScaleIO
and XenServer, also Felipe for good information in powerpoint:)

I have a problem with primary storage.

Tryed yesterday added new zone, which configured with ScaleIO+XenServer.

At the first time, i thought problem with configuration in our system, but
later, i debug creating SSVM and found problem with storage.

Jul 31 21:58:01 srv0-1-1 SM: [2468] LVHDSR.scan for
ebf265da-18b7-7258-425f-a33ae23b11a3
Jul 31 21:58:01 srv0-1-1 SM: [2468] * Error in
scsiutil.refresh_lun_size_by_SCSIid(emc-vol-6955b3dd0edb1105-d3473ceb):
EXCEPTION exceptions.OSError, [Errno 2] *No such file or directory:
'/dev/disk/by-scsid/emc-vol-6955b3dd0edb1105-d3473ceb'*

Checked /var/log/SMLog - the same error.

I tryed to create VM via XenCenter - all is nice, VM created and running.
Can see storage.

Anyone have idea, what can be wrong?

ScaleIO + ACS + HA

2016-07-13 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
Hello,

does anyone have solution for ScaleIO and ACS high availability?

As we understanding, we can create volume ant map only on 1 server. If this
server goes down - problem with storage will be for all hosts...

How do we do it:

Creating domain > adding SDS > Creating volume > mapping on the server and
creating NFS > Adding to ACS primary storage.

Any solution?

Hello,

does anyone using CS with ScaleIO?

If you using:

1. Storage and VM's on the same servers or differents?
2. Do you use sdc and sds on the same server or differents? SDS:SDC 1:1 or
1:*?
3. Is it any problem with KVM?

Very big thanks for Timothy:)

And left last choice

E5-2650v4 or E5-2630v4

Price different ±80%, effectivity - ±10% only.

Ofcourse, 2650 have more pCPU/vCPU, but is it worth to pay double price.

VM per HOST?

2016-04-11 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
Hello,

how many VM's do you creating per host?
What you prefer E5-2650v3 or E5-2630v3 (less power, 2x cheaper CPU, and
only ±20% less benchmark)

Re: CloudStack and SAN

2016-04-06 Thread Mindaugas Milinavičius
At the moment i'm using KVM with local disk. Only secondary storage NAS for
backup's of VM's

I'm interested to stay with KVM, but already looking SAN storage.

V3700 Lenovo or NetApp FAS2552 is the price which i can spend (±25000eur
with 20 600GB SAS+4SSD for cache)...

Hello,

What SAN do you use for your services?

I'm looking for SAN storage for ±500 VM's. Thinking about 15k RPM SAS
disks

Ofcourse, i'm interested at SolidFire - but not at this time, my budget to
