If you select other pv 32/64 bit for the template os selection it will 
instantiate children vms with virtio virtual components.

Use "Other PV" (64bit), this will give you 10 Gbps VirtIO device. :-)
"Windows PV" still comes with e1000 for some strange reason.

Hi, try the Windows PV OS Type.  However, this probably also enables the
virtio disk controller for the root disk, which would cause the VM to
not boot if the driver is not installed.
