Hi Gunter, we had the same problem with websphere. It was a bug in the 6.0.2.3 version from IBM. Have a look at the servlet mappings configured in your deployment descriptor (web.xml in WEB-INF) There is a section with generell mappings, maybe that helps. mit freundlichen Grüßen / kind regards Manfred Weigel Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG ORG/IT - Software Development A-1030 Vienna, Am Stadtpark 9 [EMAIL PROTECTED]@inet [EMAIL PROTECTED]@inet 03.02.2006 10:27 Bitte antworten an users@cocoon.apache.org@inet An users@cocoon.apache.org Kopie Thema Re: Tomcat5.5 and trailing slash on URL I've just checked the tomcat examples and they all work fine and no trailing slash is added to the URL so it must have to do something with the cocoon webapp anybody any idea pls? Antwort: Reliable XML/XSL editors for Cocoon development ?
Hi, There are two Eclipse plugins available. sunbow is available from www.s-und-n.de and www.anyware-tech.com offers a new plugin including a WYSIWYG CForms Editor. My problem is that our designers - they did spend several days evaluating Cocoon - are afraid to move from our current DW+PHP backend, because they think the whole "sitemap > pattern hit > xsp or flowscript + jx > transformer > result" is just too obscure and difficult to dig into, ie when editing a website you have to remember the whole sitemap schema, especially when using aggregates. I also don't understand the right choice between having a mega-huge xsl sheet able to transform every page on our site based on call-templates or "one xsl per page transformation" path. Plus they told me XSP was similar to our PHP approach but was an obsolete (?) framework, and Flowscripts look nice but require a huge Java knowledge. What I am looking for is an editor being able to handle Cocoon-based websites : for example, something being able to traverse a sitemap, find all matching patterns, build a tree of patterns, output the resulting xml flows (from xsp or jx sources), and visually edit elements of the xsl sheet. Dreamweaver has no clue about XML/XSL editing, XMLSpy has no clue about visual editing, Eclipse has never been a web editor, and Cocoon Wiki is dry on visual editors reviews. What are you guys using when dealing with 'pure' website design and management under Cocoon ? Hi sharath, We are also using websphere 5.0. If you need a be sure that there is no slash before your URI. running the same App on websphere 4.x needs a slash before the URI! Try to set the Classloader on PARENT_LAST (for the EAR ---> AND the WAR) Only in this Case the new XALAN in your web-inf/lib is used. This setting is also for running FlowScript in Websphere mandatory, because of the included xalan and rhino versions in WAS. Greetings from vienna! Antwort: [Hands-Up] Cocoon in IBM Websphere?
Hi Matthew! We are using WAS 4.03 and WAS 5.0 (5.1) Cocoon Versions: 2.0.4, 2.1 and 2.1.3 We had a lot of troubles (especially with redirects). The WebSphere Software is very different inside versions depending on the OS where your WAS is running. e.g. WAS on zOS (Host) is in real not compareable to the corresponding AIX or Linux Version. WAS is shipped with different XALAN Versions (some XALANS inside WAS would return as the vendor Lotus Corp or IBM Foundation) Be aware of using these XSL prcessors! (very slow) WAS is shipped with its own rhino implementation --> Flow wont work on WAS with default settings. It also depends on your installation and configuration of WAS. e.g running more then one cocoon apps in one instanceis really hard work because of classloader problems. on the other hand configuring a new was instance for each Cocoon app need a lot of memory. [SOLUTION] Upgrade to 2.1.2 - Paginator does not work correctly!
The problem was not the upgrade to 2.1.2, but the change to SAXON 6.5.3 SAXON requires an empty string as input parameter for the NS. The paginator used null. XALAN 2.5.1 is fine with both. eg. atts.addAttribute(null, "page", "page", "CDATA", String.valueOf(pagesheet.getPageForItem(item, itemGroup))); looks now like: atts.addAttribute("", "page", "page", "CDATA", String.valueOf(pagesheet.getPageForItem(item, itemGroup))); The new source will be comitted by Carsten (thank you!) Antwort: Greetings and question
Hello, If you post your XML, then you can write a generator which takes the body of the httppost (your xml) right into your pipeline transform it as you like and use the html serializer for generating your output. e.g. package xx.yy.zz; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import org.apache.avalon.framework.parameters.ParameterException; import org.apache.avalon.framework.parameters.Parameterizable; import org.apache.avalon.framework.parameters.Parameters; import org.apache.cocoon.environment.ObjectModelHelper; import org.apache.cocoon.environment.http.HttpRequest; import org.apache.cocoon.generation.ServletGenerator; import org.xml.sax.InputSource; import org.xml.sax.SAXException; import org.xml.sax.XMLReader; import org.xml.sax.helpers.XMLReaderFactory; /** * This generator expects a POST request with a valid XML document body. * It feeds the corresponding XML events into the pipeline. * * @author */ public class RSFXmlRequestGenerator extends ServletGenerator implements Parameterizable { /** * @see org.apache.avalon.framework.parameters.Parameterizable#parameterize(Parameters) */ public void parameterize(Parameters parameters) throws ParameterException { } /** * @see org.apache.cocoon.generation.Generator#generate() */ public void generate() throws SAXException { try { HttpRequest request = (HttpRequest) ObjectModelHelper.getRequest(objectModel); InputStream in = request.getInputStream(); InputSource inSrc = new InputSource(in); XMLReader reader = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader(); reader.setContentHandler(contentHandler); reader.parse(inSrc); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); throw new SAXException(e); } } } This would be an easy approach without storing the XML on the server. Using the WriteSourceTransformer inside your pipeline could save the "uploaded" xml on disk if you want to. good luck! regards Manfred [EMAIL PROTECTED] am 10.10.2003 15:22:46 Bitte antworten an [EMAIL PROTECTED]@inet An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kopie: Thema: Greetings and question Hello all, I subscribed to this list awhile back, when I was evaluating Cocoon 2.0. In time I had to put it aside. Now I'm returning to it, as I hope it may be the right tool for a couple of of projects I have underway. My background: I manage web operations for a central bank. I'm not primarily a developer, though I know the basics of the environments that Cocoon runs in. (e.g., I have a general grasp of Java, Tomcat, XML/XSLT, etc.) However, there are numerous large gaps in my knowledge. So please bear with me if some of my questions are kind of simple-minded :) Now for my first question. I have a requirement to create an 'interactive' XML/XSLT transformer. This would entail a web form to which a user could upload an XML file from his local drive, pass it to an XSLT transformer, and view the generated HTML file. See this URL for a related page I have running: http://centralbanks.net/sdmx/sdmx_xsl.html So I want something similar to this page, except that users could upload their own XML files, rather then merely select pre-existing ones from a list. The XSLT file would be 'hard coded' in. It seems to me this should be fairly simple to do in Cocoon 2.1.1 Does anyone have some existing code samples they could point me to here? I'm running Cocoon 2.2.1 under JDK 1.4, Tomcat 4.1.1.8, and Linux. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Antwort: Cocoon 2.1.1 on WebSphere 5
Hi Michael, We are running WAS5 on AIX and Linux and Cocoon 2.1 and we found some problems using the tag but it doesn´t seem that this is your problem. We did the build using the ibm JDK. Then we created a new WEB Project inside WSAD5 (incl. EAR Project) J2EE Level 1.2 afterwards an import of the cocoon.war, and finally a new server project (add the serverconfig to the instance, and the ear to the config) we have no troubles runnig the samples. our problem with the redirect was the missing context root, but maybe you can check if a redirect works for you and give me a feedback? cheers Manfred [EMAIL PROTECTED] am 25.09.2003 01:48:55 Bitte antworten an [EMAIL PROTECTED]@inet An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kopie: Thema: Cocoon 2.1.1 on WebSphere 5 Is anyone running Cocoon on WebSphere 5? I have rebuild the .war using WSAD and adding the ibm-web-bnd.xmi and ibm-web-ext.xmi files that WAS 5 requires. (And no, the generic cocoon.war (TOMCAT 4.1) DOES NOT run correctly on WAS 5 either.) However, I can get it to load the 'Welcome' page, but nothing else. (E. g. cocoon/samples ) And this is only when I modified the root sitemap.xmap from to . If I leave it as the original, I get: No pipeline matched request: cocoon (BTW: The link on the error page that should show the stack trace is broken now too, using the original xmap. ) It looks like some param in xmap is not set correctly. Any successful implementations under WAS 5? Thanks in advance. Antwort: More HTML than Cocoon but...
You won't get the parameter if a checkbox is not checked! If you need this, you can submit your form through a javascript, asking if your box not checked and setting a hidden input field to your specific value. regards Manfred [EMAIL PROTECTED] am 28.08.2003 17:27:44 Bitte antworten an [EMAIL PROTECTED]@inet An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kopie: Thema: More HTML than Cocoon but... How to force a checkbox to set some value when it's not checked so that the corresponding request parameter have a proper value. Why? When updating database table, the field (bool_field for example) should be set 0 when false and 1 when true. I use DatabaseAction to do it autamatically, but when checkbox is unchecked the HTTP request doesn't contain bool_field entry. The code like sets only 'checked value'. _ Regards, Mariusz Sieraczkiewicz - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
