I know (Frank already told me last time I asked a similar question) :-).
I am not suggesting to open up the mailing list (unless we can get the
same type of SPAM filter that the Universities use for our email
accounts [mine is very Viagra free and I don't do anything]).

Having said that, if someone knows how to hook up SPAM filtering with
Mailman (2 or 3) that would be great. Not having to sign up to be able
to post would be great.

Roland

I have to approve emails from non-subscribers. Unless you want to see
100 adds for Viagra.

Hello Ian,

It doesn't say anything about subscribing, or needing to.

As far as I know subscription is required. Try eg to post with say a
gmail address that you have not subscribed to the list (eg using
gmail's web interface).

I have just tried this with a private email address and indeed I cannot
post ("Your message to Users awaits moderator approval").

Can someone who is an administrator of the list check to see what the
setting is? If people need to subscribe, then we should give
instructions on the web page.

See above.

Hi Roland,

Is that really the case? The instructions at
http://einsteintoolkit.org/support.html say

The Einstein Toolkit Consortium is aiming to cultivate a
self-supporting and open community and we encourage you to write to the
users@einsteintoolkit.org mail list with your questions about the use of the
toolkit.

It doesn't say anything about subscribing, or needing to.

Can someone who is an administrator of the list check to see what the setting
is? If people need to subscribe, then we should give instructions on the web
page.

The list only lets members post so the fact that you could post would
mean you are already a member (or one of the admins ok'ed the post).

Anyhow you will want to go to:

http://lists.einsteintoolkit.org/mailman/listinfo/users

to sign up for the list. You can find other lists on the "Help!" button
in the top of the ET page http://www.einsteintoolkit.org/support.html .

Hello,

This is Samuel Cupp from LSU. I would like to be added to the users email
list. I was told to just email the list to get that to happen. This is the
