[libreoffice-users] preventing line breaks

2011-04-01 Thread Zak McKracken

Hi there,

I am using formula objects in my text if I'm referring to variables used
in "real" formulae. No problem so far, they are embeddd "as characters",
so that's fine. With one exeption:
If I have a bracketed clause, and the first (or the last) thing in the
brackets happens to be a formula object, LO can insert a line break
between the opening (or closing) bracket and the object, which looks
really bad. Is there a way to prevent this?
if I put a protected space between bracket and formula, there's no brack,
but that also looks bad. Is there some kind of "protected nothing"? or an
option hidden somewhere?

Cheers,

 Zak

as I said on previous message my problem was related to master pages,
in that case setting a different background on each master page didn't
work. But importing the images and then send them to back did. So,
give it a try and tell us.

So are you saying not to replace the background on those slides but instead
import the image as a picture and then send it to back?

[libreoffice-users] page break problem

2011-04-01 Thread Daniel Coakley
Folks -

I am just switching over to Libre from open and have encountered the same
problem. When I insert a manual page break into a spreadsheet, I get a nice
blue line when the break occurs, but do not actually get a page break when
previewing and printing.

This is true of Libre 3.3.2 for Mac, Oo 3.3.1 for Linux, and Oo 3.3.2 for
Mac. To get my breaks, I load the spreadsheet into an older version where it
still works.

Thanks

Dan Coakley

[libreoffice-users] LIbreOffice install issues

2011-04-01 Thread Steven Shelton

Running Windows XP.

Tried to install LibreOffice. It got all the way to the end, and just
hung. I mean, I left it all night and when I came back in the morning,
it was still at 100% but not moving. Only way to get rid of it was to
kill the MSIEXEC process.

Maybe--or maybe not--related: the English language module does not
install, despite being told to do so. As a result, spellcheck doesn't
work at all.

Are these known issues? Is there a fix/workaround?

Andy,

I have had problems opening wordx documents created using a macro. Wordx
documents created with no macros open correctly.

Are you opening a document created by others in Word?

[libreoffice-users] Can't open files with special characters on their pathname

2011-04-01 Thread gabspeck
Hello!

I'm using LibreOffice 3.3.2 on Ubuntu 10.10 (with the packages from the
official PPA).

Whenever I try to open a file with special characters on their pathname
(such as "é", "á"), LibreOffice pops up the following message:

" does not exist".

However, it displays the pathname with garbled characters in place of the
special characters. For instance, for a file located at
"/home/gabriel/Documentos/editáveis/documento.odt", the message is:

"/home/gabriel/Documentos/edit??veis/documento.odt does not exist".

My LANG is set to en_US.utf8.

Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Thanx for the reply, now that you asked the question I tried to recreate the
proble, even in the same document it works now, it is one of those documents
that I share with people working on MS Office.
This is a bit embarrassing, for when I send the problem it did not want to
work, and I haven't even restarted the machine.

So maybe its a every now and then problem (ghost problem)

Regards
Ryno
