[libreoffice-users] Calc, paste special, transpose and link

2014-01-01 Thread IGraham
Hello and a happy new year

Calc, paste special, transpose and link

I've done this before but can't get it to work again - I'm blaming the brain
cells

In one spreadsheet I select a range of vertical cells and copy

In the second spreadsheet I right click a cell go paste special and select
paste all, transpose, link (all selections then go grey)
Click ok and the cells are pasted vertical *not horizontal* as required

I've done it before ?? But I'm doing a bit of head scratching now

Can anyone help

It seems that, because of this gey, all functions, including the
'transpose' do not work..

This works the same as in Office2013, where it is also not possible to
'transpose' and 'link' together.

Re: [libreoffice-users] libreoffice writer freezes in ubunt 12.04

2014-01-01 Thread Kracked_P_P---webmaster

I just add MATE to Ubuntu, using the instructions on MATE's
download/install pages. Takes a few commands in Terminal, but the
downloading and install of them can take some time, depending on the
connection speed and the speed of the computer.

I hate Unity, but I sometimes log into that DE instead of MATE, but
rarely now. In a few months Ubuntu 14.04LTS will be out. Then I will be
doing a new install of everything instead of a upgrade cycle to
14.04LTS from 12.04LTS. It works better in the long run to do the clean
install, as long as you have a good set of backup files. I have 3
drives internal and 3 more as USB backups. So it matches and will be
easy[er] than the last time I switched LTS versions.

Hi :)
Blimey!! That sounds quite extreme!! 'Just' uninstalling the DE is
quite a major undertaking isn't it? Switching to a new one and
leaving the existing one intact is fairly easy but i guess that
wouldn't have solved it.

Huge congrats on solving that!!! :)

Tom :)

Hi all,
Thank you all for your inputs. I could solve the problem just by installing
gnome-desktop. I tried re-installing libreoffice. With ubuntu unity, ubuntu

I installed gnome-desktop and now i am able to use the office or
highlighting or font changes without any problem. I could conclude that it
is the problem with the desktop (for a reason that i dnt understand) and
not the libreoffice.

If you are using the Ubuntu version and wish to try The Document

Upon rereading the e-mail, I had used paste special | link transpose
to a new sheet within the same workbook. Trying to perform this
operation to a new workbook gives me a #502 error (invalid argument??)
on both versions.

Angelo

If the file does have any confidential information you can post it on
Nabble and post a link on the user page. Please do not post confidential
information because it will become public.

Do you have a specific error message? Also, please advise the LO version
you are using and your OS. This information will help us pin down the
problem.

I can look at the file if you send it to me off-list.
