Re: [libreoffice-users] Scaling x-axis on chart
Hi :) Attachments get taken off the emails. You can use Nabble though. You can upload files to a file-sharing cloud type thing and then give us a link to the file. If you go to the main LibreOffice website and through the "Get Help" section find Nabble. When you upload a file it injects the line of html coding into the message part of the email-type thing for you. Getting the file uploaded is very much the same as uploading an attachment to an email. The "browse" button is one of the top options in one of the "More" buttons. Re: [libreoffice-users] What is the current best ODF editing Android Package?
If you can run Ubuntu on it, here is something you might be interested in. X.Org Apps Now Running On Ubuntu Touch/Phone http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Ubuntu-Touch-Phone-XMir-Apps On 1/13/2015 4:04 AM, Tim---Kracked_P_P---webmaster wrote: Here is the thing, with my Nook tablet, I could not get any ODF editing package - i.e. Android AOO and such - since it seemed to need an external keyboard and a faster processor. Now the Nook is giving me "troubles" that tells me it may "die" soon. SO I ordered a new tablet, one that I could afford which is to say on sale. I ordered the following, with some of the specs shown. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9193339&sku=DOU-102596624 Double Power 10.1" Tablet [about $120 with a 2 year accident protection warranty] Quad Core MTK8127 1.3GHz, Android 4.4 Kit Kat, 1024x600, 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash memory, Bluetooth Keyboard. [will include a 32GB microSD card] So now it the time to look into an ODF editing package, again. Hopefully these specs will work better [though the Nook has 16GB flash], with the quad core and the newest Android package. So, what is the "current" best ODF editing package for Android? I want to be able to just take my tablet along, instead of my laptop, to certain meetings and gatherings. So that will require a WORKING text editing package that hopefully will read/write the ODT file format and maybe the spreadsheet format as well. Since the tablet should be in my hands Thursday or Friday, I am starting to gather a list of the apps I will be using. The interesting part for this tablet is that is has a microphone jack, along with the headphone one, so I could actually use some type of Android video conferencing package. My Android based Nook has no cameras. To be honest, right now I am using the Nook as a reader and TV streaming device [which helps when I am told I am being admitted into the hospital for a few days, like I was told on the 3rd]. But, with an ODF editing package, and external keyboard attached to the case, I would be able to do some "work" or at least be able to read/write emails easier from my hospital bed via their Guest WiFi. Even my doctor's office has a Guest WiFi access. I really want to do more than just read books and watch TV when I am away from my home/office setup - like spending time in a hospital bed for observation for possible heart/lung issues or for a case of pneumonia. So any help with choosing the best ODF editing package, would be nice. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-users] Spurious derby.log file in $HOME created by LO
Well, it's the only way I know of to include a postage stamp directly in the document. The extension contacts the post service's web service to generate a dummy barcode with or without sender and recipient addresses for inclusion in the document. On print you can keep that dummy barcode or buy the real thing so the printout will include a valid paid postage stamp. Just put it in a windowed envelope and its ready for dispatch. Saves going to the website manually and printing out an extra sheet or sticker with the stamp. Kind regards, Malte Am Dienstag, 13. Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Problem with opening document dialogue
Hi :) That link didn't work on the lock-down system i am currently working on. They block tons of sites here so i suspect it's that. On the other hand the Open Office forums had a few problems back when Oracle owned their sites. For any sort of crashing problems it seems to be a good idea to try renaming the User Profile; https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile /Users//Library/Application Support/libreoffice/4/user I usually rename that folder "4" to today's date in reverse order to make it easier to track of them. Another classic is Java versions getting into trouble. I'm not sure if Java still gets compromised quite so quickly but it might well be worth updating it. [libreoffice-users] styles in text boxes
I mentioned "irritations" in another post, so thought maybe I'll give one explicitly, as I've bumped into it (afresh) this week. Why are text styles not available to use within text boxes? I have a small project (I'm using Draw, but the problem also exists in Writer and presumably the other components) that involves documents with a number of text boxes with formatted text within. There's no problem manually making chunks of text within each box bold/italic/large/wierd font/whatever. However, I'd like to use styles to ensure consistency, and this appears simply impossible - only one style, the box style, is available (in Draw, but not Writer!) and that affects all text(*) within the given box. In Draw, the stylist simply doesn't offer paragraph or character styles; in Writer, they're greyed out when inside a text box. The maddening thing is that styles (automatically generated) are clearly used internally to handle the [manual] formatting -- AFAICS it's just the interface that doesn't offer the knobs and twiddlies needed. Or, maybe a less radical solution, you could notify the developer of this extension about this behavior. This issue might have gone completely unnoticed, seeing the mess some dev harbor in their home directory. It might be helpful for other users too. I'm affraid the situation on the Android front is moving slowly. Really slowly. And AndrOpen Office is your best (and almost only) solution. It works offline, as it is basically the whole open office app, but your mileage may vary. Some people have good results with it, others can't get it to run at all. The status of Android development and LibreOffice is explained here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/LibreOffice_on_Android but "it's not there yet". Help wanted, you might say. Note that for some "dirty" work, Google Doc now support importing and exporting opendocument files, so it might be worth a shot.

Hi :) Is it really worth keeping the Extenion/Add-on? I'd be really tempted to uninstall it and find some other way to do whatever it does. Hello Dries, thanks for the pointer. In fact German Post's online stamping extension is causing it. Not being a Java guy I'll now have to try and distill the below link (that I found before but didn't see how to make use of it) into some way to set the log file path for that extension - if there is such a way without access to the source. [libreoffice-users] What is the current best ODF editing Android Package?
Here is the thing, with my Nook tablet, I could not get any ODF editing package - i.e.
