Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Track changes with MS Office
Hi :) You can "compare documents" to see the changes between one iteration/version of it and another. It doesn't give historical changes that have been changed again later on and i am not sure how it handles messing formatting added by using MS Word. I guess you have tried using this before or are using it while waiting for the exact feature you want to become available. Of course it would be better if people just got LibreOffice/OpenOffice (or pretty much any other non-MS one) on their machines alongside MS Office so that MS's lack of interoperability is less problematic. Re: [libreoffice-users] multiple column calc sort makes LO quit
Hello again, I've been testing a bit on a few files, but even the simplest sort on the A column, with or without column headers, of a small original ods file (15 columns, 50 rows) makes LO quit. Is it the Mac version? I updated to LO 5.0.1, but the result is the same. I will try and find time to file a bug report... Re: [libreoffice-users] File download stalls when connected to my ISP, succeeds when using a Verizon Wireless MIFI?
I am hoping the person will return my email and give me the info you need - i.e. the location of the download so you can find out what mirror was used. Since the country code was ".be", that should narrow the mirror list a bit. I do not remember what country used that country code, but I could look it up if I really wanted to know that answer. [libreoffice-users] modify calc dynamically with java
Hi, I want to modify libreoffice calc (ods) files. I have seen that within the ods (a zip file) there is content.xml file that contains values. I have tried to change it and I can change the calc. Sometime formula are not update because there are "cached values" within the cell. Removing this values (xml attributes) formula are recalulated. Quite the same with charts. Is this a good way or there are better ways? There is another "better way" to make calc to recalculate formula or redraw charts? It better a library to do this? In case some raccomandation for java? [libreoffice-users] Re: Remove all paragraph and other formatting except for character attributes eg italics, bold etc

You cannot remove page and paragraph formatting, since every page and every paragraph has to have some format or other. But you can reset these to some other value or default. The only page formatting in a Writer document is page style formatting, so you need just to modify the page style(s) in your document or to apply a suitable page style - perhaps Default - to all your material. Open the Styles and Formatting window, put the cursor in turn into each range of pages with a particular style, and double-click the Default style on the Page Styles panel. Your paragraph formatting may be paragraph formatting or paragraph style formatting, but resetting paragraph style formatting seems to trump paragraph formatting, so is all you need to attend to. Open the Styles and Formatting window, select all the material, and double-click the Default style on the Paragraph Styles panel. I trust this helps. Thanks for that info - it did help - I am producing short stories consisting of standard paragraphs for inserting into a templated xhtml file - so I need to get rid of most of the formatting. What I have ended up doing is: - Use your method to get rid of some of the junk from submitted short stories - Export to an xhtml file - Use pandoc to convert to Markdown file format (which removes the rest of the junk I don't need) - Use pandoc to convert back to an xhtml file format which is almost ready to insert into the xhtml template Regards, Phil. -- Philip Rhoades PO Box 896 Cowra NSW 2794 Australia E-mail: p...@pricom.com.au -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-users] Thikening the contour of an square crashes Impress
There are a couple possibilities which come to my mind as to the problem here; assuming there is no bug in any of your set-ups - which could be 1 cause. Another possibility is that you're attempting to stretch an existing line rather than deleting the present one which you no longer desire; if this is the case, then merely delete that which you no longer want & replace with that which you want. Another possibility may be whatever you mean by 'arquive' ???; do you perchance mean archive?, as in saving the document? if this is the case, then are you saving with a different name?, or are you starting fresh with a blank PP? You might try starting with a fresh/blank PP then click on add file then make any adjustments to the individual slides you want then save the document with a different name; Should be as you desire it, Hoping this helps, From: Ralf KersanachDate: Fri, Sep 4, 2015 at 6:40 AM Subject: [libreoffice-users] Thikening the contour of an square crashes Impress To: users@global.libreoffice.org Hi, recently I was preparing a lecture and I needed to draw a square around a region of an image to get attention on that part of the image.
