Sorry, bad description - I meant I would like a word count in the footer
that counts the words on that page only

Word count updates automatically whatever - if you highlight the text on
a single page, the word count at the bottom of the window shows number
of words on that page

[libreoffice-users] Reset for tracked changes

2015-09-30 Thread Mike Cowlishaw

I have been experimenting with tracked changes and they look ideal for
indicating Editor's changes to a Standard document. However, I cannot see
how to 'reset' the track once changes have been approved. It seems one can
either show all changes ever made to the document, or none at all?

'Show changes since a given date' would probably be OK, but as the
timestamps in the XML are in local time(!) it would have to be used with
care ...

Did you notice that the Manage Changes dialog contains a column
labeled Date? It is really a timestamp.

[libreoffice-users] Re: MS Word compatability

@Thomas, *

It is a filter issue with the OOXML .docx rendering of CJK and Latin fonts.
Probably worth opening a bug report against.

Not really an answer, especially if you must substantially alter the
document, however you can export from Office 2013 Writer to PDF.

And then Open the PDF of the document in LibreOffice Draw.

Should have different, and *hopefully improved*, rendering of the mixed CJK
and Latin texts--allowing you to work.

Let us know.

Stuart

Just to add to this, if you do file a bug. the devs would definitely be
interested in having a copy of the file in question. It would really
help out in working out any issues with the import.

If you are not able to file a bug, let us know, and, if you can send us
a copy of the file, someone here will file it for you.

Cheers,

I did, but I had thought that 'Manage Changes' just let you find changes, by
author, etc. I now see it also affects what's shown in the document -- so
it's exactly what I need.

Many thanks!
