Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Database help please
Thank you to everyone who replied to my query, A01, A02 etc works, I am very thankful for that. Now the problem to prevent duplication, I have tried several ways but obviously what I am doing is incorrect as it doesn't work. Could someone please do a very small database to show how this problem can be overcome. Many thanks in anticipation. RE: [libreoffice-users] question about "Binary URP bridge disposed during call" error
Hi Stephan, I redo the batch testing and you are right: my program killed soffice.bin after waiting 2 minutes and can't open a file for printing through "m_xDesktop->loadComponentFromURL()". And the function then throw a "Binary URP bridge disposed during call" exception. (And no LibreOffice crash happen for my new printing program. ) This issue happened randomly and most of the time the same file can be opened correctly. Basically, the testing case is to start soffice.bin and print 10 files then close it. The testing case will be repeated thousands time. If I restart soffice.bin every time a printing job finished, "loadComponentFromURL()" always return quickly. I am wondering why "m_xDesktop->loadComponentFromURL()" sometimes get stuck and how to generate debugging information when it get stuck? For one, this crash is during "clean" termination of the soffice.bin process, i.e., at a time when your external code should no longer communicate with the soffice.bin process anyway. (Or is your external code designed in a way that it might call com.sun.star.frame.XDesktop.terminate while some printing activity is still in progress?) For another, I see no way how com::sun::star::ucb::UniversalContentBroker::create could throw an exception there during shutdown. It should already have been called during initialization, from Desktop::Main -> Desktop::RegisterServices -> configureUcb, and if that had already failed with an exception, that would have caused a call to FatalError, which immediately terminates the process via _exit. Are you sure that that crash dump correlates to a "Binary URP bridge disposed during call" exception in your client, or could it be from a "harmless" crash of an soffice.bin instance after your client code had already disconnected (so might normally go rather unnoticed, except for leaving behind a crash dump)? -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] RE: LibreOffice 5.1.1.3 Writer new bug?
LibreOffice 5.1.1 (aka 5.1.1.3 is in pre-release) posting soon. So, probably not a typo. Believe this is simply an Auto-correct issue in profile, but easy to determine if it is from LO Source or a user profile. Auto-correct values are localized so there could be an issue with the replacement table, or possibly a word completion has been recorded. Both are checked from the Tools -> AutoCorrect -> AutoCorrect Options dialog (as localized). If correct, the U+2129 right arrow character is linked, i.e. auto replaces entry of "-->" ; but the replacement for that string can be edited from the "Replace" tab. Check what is recorded there and correct it if wrong. Alternatively, the "Word Completion" tab allows words frequently used to be auto entered. Default limit of 8 characters, but that can be reduced and user profile may have shorter completions recorded. Check there if the "-> semplificazione" has somehow been recorded--and delete it. Of course, probably the simplest way to reset to defaults is to clear user profile. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/LibreOffice-5-1-1-3-Writer-new-bug-tp4177602p4177619.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[libreoffice-users] Re: Viewing Manual Break Locations
An interesting approach to checking for consistent style usage ... I check these by clicking on the text and looking at the style listed in the sidebar, but your way certainly would be useful if the difference between various styles is subtle (a one or two point size variation for instance). And, of course, I really only do that when I *suspect* something might be amiss, so it likely isn't very comprehensive. I might give your idea a try just to see how it works in practice, so thanks for sharing. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Viewing-Manual-Break-Locations-tp4177377p4177612.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
[libreoffice-users] LibreOffice 5.1.1.3 Writer new bug?
Hi Everyone, I get a strange behaviour with the new 5.1.1.3 LibreOffice Win_x64 on Microsoft Windows 10, x64, daily updated build 1511, ita gui. I get it with this little sequence: - copy this raw in a new Writer document: conoscenza dei processi -> semplificazione -> riduzione dei costi; - move the cursor in front of the first "->" (like this "->|", if "|" is the cursor); - press space key on the keyboard; - you will get (I get): conoscenza dei processi -> semplificazione -> semplificazione -> riduzione dei costi; with the first two arrows correctly auto-corrected with the right arrow character (but with a duplicate string: twice " -> semplificazione"); - if you repeat the behaviour with the third fake arrow ("->") you will get: conoscenza dei processi -> semplificazione -> semplificazione -> semplificazione -> riduzione dei costi; with all four arrows correctly auto-corrected with the right arrow character (but with a triplicate string: three times " -> semplificazione"). [libreoffice-users] Calc: PDF export vs. print to a PDF printer
Hi Everyone, at the moment, I have taken a look only on mailing list, but I have not seen nothing relating. I am speaking about the difference in Calc between pdf exporting a multi-sheet ods document (a spreadsheet document) and printing it in a pdf printer (software printer). The file -> print dialog change in Calc with respect to Writer, Impress, Draw, ... and is able to choose among selected sheets, cells or all and then all pages or only some of them. When you pdf export there are not that useful capabilities... Or am I loosing something? What is the problem? Native pdf export my maintain some formatting or features of the source document (like URL, PDF Forms, ...) that you may loose also cutting a pdf. What do you think about? Is there some extensions to do this and/or are we planning to integrate something like this in the Calc pdf export dialog? Have All a sunny day, Carlo -- ing. Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: how to print in landscape?
It seems to me that Regina's reply was based on the assumption that Larry was having a problem with Writer. Unfortunately, he didn't make clear until his second post that he was talking about Calc. In Calc, there is a format button on the second line of the toolbars and it does succesfully change the view to landscape in my LO 4.2.8.2. The change to landscape also shows up in the print preview and then prints as landscape without further ado.
