I right clicked on the date, as someone advised me and the box popped up with Date (fixed) highlighted. It's not supposed to have changed. I'll check again tomorrow and see if it's changed again. Last night I used the keyboard shortcut I made to insert the date. Unfortunately there was no choice that I could see to insert date (fixed). This morning the date has changed to today's date. So I think I probably need a macro. I looked under Macros and have to enable JRE, which I think puts my computer more at risk for hackers etc. Not only that, the option seemed to be to run a Macro already created, but I didn't see an option to record the steps for a Macro. I don't suppose there is a work-around? Why not use the default of +<;> (that's a semicolon)? The format is dependent on Locale Setting. Add the to insert current time. I started to write a macro (and failed miserably) because I wanted to, in a spreadsheet, enter today's date and time in a column (or two) that then *never* updates again. All of my attempts at getting this to work (via existing methods or by creating a macro) failed. I simply had to accept that I had to enter it every time I I made an entry. Years ago in Word Perfect there was a feature that allowed me to use a shortcut key (even picking from a menu would be good) that inserted today's date. Does Libre Writer have this feature?
