Re: [libreoffice-users] LO 3.5.1

Hi :)
Yes it's a bit annoying that the only version on the main downloads page was
the 3.5.0 when it was obviously going to be problematic. Now that the 3.5.1
has been released it should be less of a problem.

People choose the latest one because that's what we give them, unless they dig around to find the more obscure options buried on back-pages.

Have you looked at bugzilla?

I am reluctant to upgrade until I know that these showstoppers have been
fixed.

Why do people always wish to be using the latest version of a software product?

Have recently read a very interesting thread about regression bugs and
(in my opinion) flawed software release strategy:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-qa/2012-March/001267.html.
Novice mailing list users, note the consistent posting style!

I just simply think and expect latest versions have solved problems from
previous releases.

However it is obvious that this is not true at all.

I filed bug report, /Bug 44010
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44010/ now.

I tested little bit more. This problem appears when the test direction
of the page is set vertically. If the text flow is normal horizontal,
the border of the frame becomes visible.

Tried with LO 3.5.0 Beta2

Unfortunately it is not fixed with 3.5.

Ah, thanks.
We are still in beta2/3, so maybe time to fix this for the 3.5.0

Great.

I really hope LO will get better and better.
I keep promoting LO in the mean time.

Yes, I verified working with 3.5.0 Beta too.
But I am disappointed to find other problem I have with Writer is not
solved with 3.5.0.

I guess I will really have to stick with 3.3 for quite while.

There was a bug that charts were not updated automatic:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39118

Is fixed for 3.5.0 and hopefully (I'm not sure) also for 3.4.5.
  See http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Cheers,

Thank you.
I tried to use this template with L.O. 3.3.4 and it works fine with it.
Seems like 3.4.4 has quite a lot of bugs that just left out or never
been recognized.
3.3.4 also solved my other problem with Writer, so I guess I will wait
stable version of 3.5.0 come out, in the mean time I better stick with
older 3.3.4.

[libreoffice-users] Border not visible

2011-12-19 Thread A.N.

Hi all,

I have asked this before but again I would like to address this problem.

http://www.4shared.com/file/ZNEMSh2R/border.html

Above link contains the sample Writer file to see if the border of the
frame will be visibly shown or not.

Created with LibreOffice 3.4.4. on Windows XP.
For some reason if I open this very same file in OpenOffice, the border
of the frame is shown visibly.

What could be the problem here

Your file is not reachable unless accepting too many cookies. So I can't
test it.
You can upload files if you use Nabble to answer.

How where do you apply a boarder?

Open Office 3.4.0. displays and prints with no problem.

Is there anybody experiencing same problem?

I would have problems downloading OpenOffice.org 3.4 - it does not

I attached the actual file with the frame.

See if it shows if you open with LibreOffice.

OpenOffice I use is actually 3.4.0, developer's version.
